Ross Kernez is an American digital marketer, SEO consultant, community builder, mentor and author.[1] He is the founder of NYC-based SEO Meetup, a group of marketing professionals who meet monthly to network and discuss the latest trends and happenings in the industry. Ross Kernez currently serves as the Director of Search Marketing at HPOne and is a member of the American Marketing Association.[2]

Ross Kernez has over a decade’s experience as a digital marketing strategist and has worked for several companies in the IT, healthcare, and advertising industries. He was also one of the developers that built the search engine Grace AI that was powered by IBM. As a mentor, Ross Kernez has helped numerous startups with digital marketing strategy at Starta Ventures, a venture capital firm based in NYC.[3]

Ross Kernez, for his exceptional advisory and bespoke digital marketing tactics, has gained the attention of several media outlets including IBM Systems,[4] Databox,[5] Forbes,[6] CBNation, and many other publications.[7]

Early life and education

Ross was born in Ukraine and later moved to America. He acquired an associate’s degree in Computer Science from Bergen Community College and then enrolled in the New Jersey Institute of Technology to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.


Ross Kernez started his career in 2012 as a digital marketing consultant, he has been consulting a wide range of companies across the country to meet their online marketing goals and help them increase their overall ROI.[8]

In 2013 Ross Kernez became an SEO strategist for a digital marketing agency. After a year he became a manager at that firm leading a team to create and deliver marketing campaigns. In 2015 Ross Kernez joined Inventive Software as a senior SEO product strategist, where he worked for two years.

In 2017,Ross joined a project Grace AI, Search Engine that was using AI and machine learning. He then joined as an SEO Product manager. Within a year, Ross Kernez was promoted as the head of growth.[9]

In 2020, Ross Kernez became an advisor at CoatConnect. In the same year, he founded SEO Meetup, a growth marketing professionals group that became home to over 2000 members. This group aims at helping people learn the ropes of digital marketing.[10]

In 2021, he became a member of the American Marketing Association. Ross Kernez currently serves as the Director of Search Marketing for HPOne, one of the fastest-growing sales and marketing healthcare companies in the health insurance marketplace.

Personal life

Ross Kernez is fluent in English, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, and Slovakian. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling.
