LinkedIn is a business and employment-oriented internet service based in the United States that is accessible via websites and mobile applications. The website, which was launched on May 5, 2003, is mainly used for professional networking and career advancement, and it enables job seekers to submit their CVs and businesses to advertise job openings. At the time of writing, the majority of the company's income came from the sale of access to information on its members to recruiters and sales representatives. It has been a fully owned subsidiary of Microsoft since December 2016, when the company was founded. As of September 2021, LinkedIn has more than 774 million registered members from more than 200 countries and territories, according to the company.

LinkedIn is a social networking site that enables users (both employees and employers) to establish profiles and "link" with one another in an online social network that may simulate real-world business connections. Members have the ability to invite anybody (whether they are already members or not) to become a "connection." Other uses for LinkedIn include organising offline events, joining groups, writing articles, publishing job ads, uploading pictures and videos, and a variety of other activities.
