Nikhil Arun is an Indian-American entrepreneur known for his multiple innovations during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is currently serving as the Vice President of 1health,[1][2] a technology firm that focuses on modernizing test ordering, management, and analysis. Arun is also the co-founder of In-Video Impressions, which he later sold to Vitagene in 2019.[3][4]

Early life and education

Arun grew up in Redmond, WA, and studied at Redmond High School. He attended Duke University where he received a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and an MBA. Arun was a hip-hop dancer in China and was chosen as one of the 12 dancers in the opening ceremonies for the 26th Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China.

Career

After dancing in China, Arun started his corporate journey with Microsoft where he worked on the Xbox as well as redesigning Microsoft’s billing and advertising systems.[5][6][7]

Arun served at Microsoft for nearly five years and later founded his own AdTech company called In-Video Impressions.[8] His venture services athletic and wellness brands like Lululemon and Duke Basketball and helps them garner billions of views a year.[9] Arun later sold his company to San Francisco-based Vitagene in 2019.[10][11]

In 2019, Arun joined 1health,[12] a healthcare technology company,[13] and quickly rose to the rank of Vice President, where he was responsible for four major innovations that would help fight COVID-19.[14][15] These included developing the first at-home COVID saliva test in the United States,[16] creating "Testing As a Service" as a means for any organization to deploy COVID testing on their own website, constructing a tool to manage vaccination administration in underserved communities, and building a system that allowed major corporations to track covid outbreaks.[17]

Arun has also been responsible for multiple innovations that help in cancer prevention and adverse drug reaction prevention.[18][19]
