Dr Johan Blickman is a practicing Radiologist with over 30 years of experience in the industry.[1] He specializes with Pediatric Radiology and has worked with many hospitals and has been a prominent figure in the academic world. Dr. Blickman is considered one of the foremost experts on Radiology, and has written many books and articles that have been published throughout the years.[2]
Early Life and Education
Dr Blickman grew up in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and earned his M.D. from Boston University in 1978. After completing his medical degree, Dr. Blickman then completed fellowships in Pediatric Radiology at Harvard Medical School, and at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Later, in 1991, Dr. Blickman returned to his home country of The Netherlands to finish his PhD at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
Career
Dr. Johan Blickman is the former Radiologist-in-Chief at Golisano Children’s Hospital in New York at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), where he also served as a Professor of Radiology. He also served as a Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, and served as Chairman of the Department of Radiology at University Medical Center.[3][4]
Throughout his career, Dr. Blickman has written 8 books and more than 120 articles regarding radiology, and is considered to be one of the top experts in the industry, with over 30 years of professional experience both practicing and in a university setting.[5]
Philanthropy
In 2022, Dr. Blickman launched the Dr. Johan Blickman Scholarship for Future Medical Doctors, which helps students who are on the road to become medical doctors with scholarship funding.[6][7]
