Liana Zavo (January 17, 1987) is a Russian businesswoman, entrepreneur, PR strategist,[1] digital storyteller, motivational speaker, author and podcaster.[2] She is the Founder of ZavoMedia Group, which is a communications company based in New York. Zavo is also the chairwoman of WMW Lounge and the host of podcast series “What Makes a Woman. She has also authored a self-development book titled BEPIC: Be Seen & Be Heard.[3]

Zavo is best known as a PR media mogul and female brand marketer with an experience of over 10 years in the industry. She is an expert at digital storytelling and personal brand development and has helped companies, brands, professionals and entrepreneurs in gaining visibility through media and online digital marketing strategies.

Zavo is a member of The Forbes Business Council and a columnist in Forbes and Entrepreneur Magazine[4] and has been featured on several national and international publications. She is also a keynote speaker at C-suite conferences and summits.[5]

Early life and education

Zavo was born on January 17, 1987 in Dushanbe, Tadjikistan. Her father Michael, owned a restaurant and mother Valentina, was a gynaecologist. Zavo’s family moved to Vienna during the disintegration of the Soviet Union in Russia. Later in 1995, they moved to Queens, New York. Zavo completed her graduation from Forest High school in 2005. She attended Queens college, New York and pursued her studies in media and communication from the Long Island University. In 2008, Zavo enrolled to pursue a degree in cosmetology.

During her early days, Zavo had an interest in sports such as tennis and basketball and was an active member at various clubs and activities at her school and college. Owing to her multicultural background, Zavo got inclined towards art and design and wanted to pursue a career in beauty and fashion.

Career

Zavo dropped out of college and pursued a career as a marketing and public relations representative. In 2014, she started working as a PR account executive at Herald Public Relations. As a female brand marketer she worked with several hotels and salons and helped them in driving their sales by targeting their audience.[6] She soon became the brand ambassador of various brands owing to which she decided to start her company Le Chic Image LLC, where she styled guests and celebrities for events all over the world. In a short span of time, Zavo gained popularity and attended fashion shows all over the world. As she developed her interest towards public relations, she decided to pursue a strategic PR planning course from eCornell.[7][8]

In January 2018, she started ZavoMedia Group, which is a communications company based in New York.[9][10] The company works towards building marketing strategies, social media marketing and developing public relations. It focuses on creating enhanced visibility, brand awareness and visibility for businesses, professionals and entrepreneurs. Under the leadership of Zavo, the company has been recognized as the best PR firm in New York city.[11][12]

Zavo is also the chairwoman of WMW Lounge.[13] She is an advocate and supporter of women empowerment. Through WMW,[14] she focuses on developing a platform for future female entrepreneurs. She has been successful in mentoring 2200 girls in the last 3 years.[15]

Zavo has also launched a podcast series called What Makes a Woman.[16] The podcast is a platform through which successful female executives and professionals share their success stories and offer mentorship and guidance to women who want to pursue entrepreneurship.[17]

Zavo is also a member of various renowned councils and organisations including, The Forbes Business Council,[18] Entrepreneur Magazine and Young Entrepreneur council. She has authored a book titled BEPIC: Be Seen & Be Heard.[19] In her book she has shared her personal story and elaborates the tips and guidance on how to improve yourself and pursue your dreams. The book is being sold on Amazon, Goodreads and Barnes & Noble. After the launch of her book, Zavo became the first female author with a one-word acronym to have her own NFT book.

Personal life

Zavo got married at the age of 18 and later got divorced. Currently she resides in New York and is a single mother to her son Joshua Benjamin. Her son is a tech specialist and a solopreneur.
