KRYPTOSPHERE® is a French community-led initiative focusing on new technologies such as Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, blockchain, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.[1] Created in 2017, this international trademark is related to a network of students and professionals who discover, learn and share knowledge about these topics, offering numerous online and in person events, publications, training and resources to support its mission. The KRYPTOSPHERE® trademark is not to be confused with the generic term « cryptosphere ».[2]

History

KRYPTOSPHERE® was founded in 2017 by Dr. Thibault Langlois-Berthelot during his studies at KEDGE Business School Marseille.[3] Originally promoting Bitcoin in many French cities, where KRYPTOSPHERE® has had a significant impact on the Bitcoin community, other blockchains technologies were also studied at the time.[4] Since then, this network has expanded across France and Europe as a significant community allowing understanding of the Web 3.0 ecosystem and related technologies.[5]

Since 2019, KRYPTOSPHERE® has broadened its focus to encompass additional technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, enhancing its expertise to cater to the general public and businesses.[6] It has expanded its influence and services to its partners and sponsors such as large corporations and all types of companies (Ledger, Bpifrance, KPMG France, Binance).[7]

KRYPTOSPHERE® is deeply involved and collaborates with famous educational institutions in Europe, such as computer science, engineering and business schools, to advocate digital assets, blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies to students.[8] Its constellation of organizations fosters awareness and understanding of emerging technologies within French and European tech communities. Since its inception, the KRYPTOSPHERE® brand has grown into a network of over 800 members spread over 20 campuses in 9 cities including Paris (France), London (UK) and Mons (Belgium).[9] KRYPTOSPHERE® has welcomed more than 3,000 members, and today includes many graduates and Alumnis.

Activities

KRYPTOSPHERE® organizes various events across France and Europe related to new technologies, such as the KRYPTOSPHERE® Blockchain Summit, frequent workshops, training sessions, hackathons, podcasts, publications and conferences on many topics such as traditional finance, blockchain and crypto dynamics or data science and data engineering.[10] This network also supports the creation of tech projects and startups through its non-profit incubator, the KRYPTOSPHERE® Accelerator.[11][12]
