Thibault Langlois-Berthelot (born in April 1997) is a French social entrepreneur, scholar and researcher known for his contributions to academia in the computing and legal fields. Thibault Langlois-Berthelot founded KRYPTOSPHERE®, a nonprofit organization and student network promoting technologies such as Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. He currently serves as a pupil barrister at IN Groupe, Paris.[1][2]

In addition to his professional roles, Thibault Langlois-Berthelot has made important contributions to the french academic literature and research in digital identities, rights, blockchain, decentralization and bitcoin.[3][4]

Early life and education

Thibault Langlois-Berthelot was born in 1997, in Lyon, France. He completed his secondary education at ICOF High School in Lyon, graduating with honors in 2015. From 2015 to 2017, he pursued preparatory studies for CPGE ECT at Lycée Condorcet.

In 2017, Thibault Langlois-Berthelot enrolled at KEDGE Business School in Marseille and earned a master's degree in finance. Subsequently, he pursued advanced studies in comparative law, obtaining a second master’s from Université Paris Nanterre in 2019–2020.

In 2023, Thibault earned a Doctor of Law degree from EHESS (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales), presenting a thesis titled « Blockchain in the Context of Law and Identity ». Thibault Langlois-Berthelot is continuing his studies as a Barrister candidate, specializing in tax and business law, preparing for the Certificate of Aptitude for the Legal Profession (CAPA) at the École de formation professionnelle des barreaux du ressort de la cour d’appel de Paris (EFB).

Career

In 2017, at KEDGE Business School, Thibault Langlois-Berthelot founded KRYPTOSPHERE®, a nonprofit organization and student network dedicated to promoting new technologies, including Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The KRYPTOSPHERE® network of associations has expanded across France, serving as a significant platform for understanding the Web 3.0 ecosystems.[5]

Initially centered on event organization and content creation, KRYPTOSPHERE® expanded its scope to offer customized services for corporations and companies, including training and technical analysis. With a membership of over 800 individuals across 20 campuses in 9 cities, KRYPTOSPHERE® is actively involved in organizing events, training sessions, and web3 accelerator programs. The primary objective of KRYPTOSPHERE® France is to sustain the project and its branches on human, financial, and strategic fronts.[6]

Moreover, KRYPTOSPHERE® collaborates with educational institutions in France to advocate for blockchain technology and digital assets among students. It fosters awareness and understanding of emerging technologies within the French and European tech communities.

In 2021, Thibault Langlois-Berthelot joined IN Groupe, Paris, as a jurist, focusing on SBU Digital Services. Operating under the supervision of the Executive Vice President, Thibault utilized his legal expertise to navigate complex frameworks and support the company's legal and Web 3.0 operations. In 2024, he transitioned to the role of a pupil barrister at IN Groupe, contributing to the legal department under the guidance of the Head of Legal Affairs.[7]

Thibault Langlois-Berthelot also served as a strategic advisor at Sesterce, an international bitcoin mining company, during 2017–2018.

With research papers on Google Scholar, he has also authored numerous journal articles, book sections, and conference papers, establishing himself as an authority in these technological and legal fields.
