Yusuf Berkan Altun (born 11 April 1994) is a Swiss tech-entrepreneur, angel investor, and keynote speaker. Altun is the founder of LemonRocks Corporation, a data-driven startup tracking platform. He is also the initiator of the IoT Business Hub, ambassador of Resilient, and the youngest member of the Forbes Technology Council.[1][2][3][4]

Altun has over a decade’s experience in the IT industry and has worked with numerous clients offering his expert advice and helping startups gain momentum. He also organizes the TechPark Investment Gala & Conference, which takes place each year during the World Economic Forum in Davos.[5][6]

Altun is the recipient of the Angel Investor Award by EU AI Summit and Innovator Award. He has been featured in several media outlets such as TechTimes, Irish Tech News, Influencive News, Forbes Technology, Forbes, NASDAQ, FinTechNews, Politico, Webrazzi, IT Magazine, and Cointelegraph CoinTelegraph, Forbes, IT Reseller, and others.[7][8]

Early life and education

Altun was born on 11 April 1994 in Zurich. In 2015, he enrolled in the Draper University, where he did a course in entrepreneurial studies. Altun then went to the BMS Technical University’s Remote Program in 2017 to pursue a bachelor’s course in Computer Science and Mathematics. During his time, he also did a blockchain executive course at Draper University. While growing up, Altun was inclined towards the technology field and has always wanted to pursue a career in it.

Career

Altun started his career in 2012 as a junior IT Berator at Sultan Reisen. During his time there, he also worked as a consultant for a year. After working for three years at Sultan Reisen, Altun commenced his entrepreneurial journey with the foundation of the Smoody Application.[9]

In 2016, Altun founded Suixo, a technology consulting firm based in Zurich. In the same year, Altun also became an EMEA partner at EL Group International. Three years later, he assumed the position of a board member at this firm.

In 2018, Altun became an ambassador for Resilient, a Zurich-based technology hub. In 2019, Altun co-founded TechDistrict, an co-working space and IT platform based in Zurich and Istanbul. Under his leadership, TechDistrict.com also reached Zurich, where he served as an advisor for about five months.

In 2020, Altun became a mentor for the Information Commercialization Center. In the same year, he also established IoT Business Hub, with the idea to promote Swissness as a brand. Altun also became the youngest member of the Forbes Technology Council in 2020.[10][11][12]

In 2022, Altun joined Q500 Group as a Venture Builder and COO, a venture backed by a UK Family Office focused on payment and crypto infrastructures. He played a pivotal role in applying for Banking Act 1b License, Asset Management licenses in Switzerland, and multiple VASP and MT licenses across the EU and US. Since October 2022, he has served as the board president.

Leveraging this wealth of experience, he launched LemonRocks in the third quarter of 2023.
