Yatin Karnik (born 28 September 1979) is a U.S.-based Indian entrepreneur, business executive, and philanthropist. He is the founder of Confer Inc., a FinTech startup, and Diabetes Free Life a non-profit organization.[1] Karnik has extensive knowledge and experience in the residential lending business and specializes in risk mitigation, people management, and expense management.[2]

Confer is based in California and has become one of the leading financial technology firms that focus on democratizing mortgages.[3] Karnik’s philanthropic venture Diabetes Free Life is known for promoting awareness on how to reverse diabetes.

Early life and education

Karnik was born on 28 September 1979 to Pradeep and Dipti Karnik in Nagpur, India. He spent his early years growing up in several cities around central and western India before finishing high school in Bhopal, MP - Champions. Growing up, he also learned German and a few musical instruments. He discovered the significance of giving back during his early years by volunteering with HelpAge India, and he vowed to be active in similar activities throughout his life.

He graduated from MIT with a bachelor's degree (Manoharbhai Institute of Technology). Karnik worked briefly with AT&T Sales Manager after finishing his college education, where he quickly rose through the ranks and became the star salesperson. He later earned a master's degree in software engineering.

Career

Karnik started his career in 2001 when he joined AT&T as a regional sales manager, where he worked for a year. In 2004 he became a senior business analyst at Wells Fargo. Karnik served for over 14 years with this MNC, where he rose to the ranks and became an SVP.[4]

In 2021, Karnik started his entrepreneurial journey when he established Confer Inc. a fintech startup operating in the United States headquartered in California.[5] Under his leadership, Confer has gained mass public recognition for its mortgage loan customizer that can address a variety of financial and home-buying needs. In 2022, Karnik launched Confer's app which is available on both android and iOS and facilitates easy comparison and customization of mortgage products.
