Scholar

A scholar is a person who engages in academic and intellectual pursuits, especially those that help them gain competence in a specific field of interest. It is also possible to be a scholar and be an academic who works as a professor, instructor, or researcher at a university or other institution of higher learning. An academic is often a person who has earned an advanced degree or terminal degree, such as a doctorate. Independent academics, such as philosophers and public intellectuals, are those who do not operate inside the academic community. Despite the fact that they are not linked with a university, they are nonetheless permitted to submit to academic publications and participate in intellectual conferences.
