Sohrab Payind (born January 23, 1984) is an American entrepreneur, club promoter, content creator, philanthropist, and motivational speaker. He is the founder of the English Language Club, a 24/7 English language learning community and Fairytale, an event management company in Hollywood, California. Sohrab has made a name for the English Language club, which is changing the way English is taught around the world. The club uses modern technology such as the Clubhouse Social Audio App to connect with it’s audience to assist them in improving their English, and helping them overcome their fear of making mistakes while speaking.[1][2]

Sohrab is highly respected as an expert event marketer and promoter. He has helped brand some of the best entertainment venues throughout Hollywood in the last decade.His experience in delivering memorable experiences to high-profile clients goes unmatched.[3]

Early life and education

Sohrab was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, the son of Afghan immigrant parents. His family used to communicate in Pashto, making it difficult for him to converse and study in English. Sohrab considers his father his role model and inspiration. At a young age, he began assisting his father at his pizza shop in Calabasas.

In 2008, Sohrab obtained his Associate of Arts degree in business administration and management from Los Angeles Pierce College. In 2010, he enrolled at California State University, Northridge, to pursue a bachelor’s in Business administration and management, which he completed in 2012.

Career

Sohrab started working at his father’s pizza shop, Michael’s Pizza, at the age of 12 and worked there until he was 25.[4]

In 2010, Sohrab started working as an independent event and nightlife promoter in Hollywood, California. He began marketing and promoting assigned venues and events by disseminating approved information to prospective clients. Through flyer distribution, networking, savvy social media marketing, guest list submission, and ticket sales, he aimed to increase the average foot traffic and venue attendance and establish a loyal fanbase.[5]

In 2019, Sohrab established Fairytale, an event management company. Over the years, the company has emerged as a prominent force in the Hollywood nightlife & entertainment company. Sohrab is an experienced event manager and promoter of Hollywood's top entertainment venues and has worked with celebrities, stars, and industry leaders to execute events and give Hollywood dreamers a premium, high-end experience. Sohrab promotes popular hot spots and helps opens new ones to ensure success. His creativity and attention to detail make these new places Hollywood's finest nightlife destinations.[6][7]

In 2021, Sohrab incorporated the English Language club, which provides a safe space for English learners around the globe. Members can practice speaking English, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without the fear of being judge or criticized by anyone. The club is accessible 24/7 and is managed by a team of 20 moderators. Within a year of its founding, the club has amassed nearly 500,000 members and continues to grow daily.[8]
