Salim Elhila (born 23 December 1993, Paris, France) is an entrepreneur, investor, music producer, and philanthropist, best known as the co-founder and co-CEO of Decentralized Masters, a decentralized finance (DeFi) education platform. He is also the co-founder of Learning Master, an online training initiative for aspiring entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants.[1] With a background in mathematical engineering, Elhila has built a multi-million-dollar business empire while championing the democratization of financial education through digital platforms.[2]
Early Life and Education
Salim Elhila was born on 23 December 1993 in Paris, France, into a North African family. He studied mathematical engineering and statistical modeling at INSA Toulouse, where he developed a strong foundation in data science, artificial intelligence, and engineering.[3]
Career
Artificial Intelligence and Early Professional Life
After graduating, Elhila initially worked in the field of artificial intelligence. Despite securing a prestigious role and a high salary, he found the corporate path unfulfilling and misaligned with his values. Seeking more freedom and personal purpose, he left his job and began traveling around, living in a van in Australia. He eventually ended up building his first e-commerce businesses from his parent's small apartment in Casablanca, Morocco. Within months, he generated millions in online sales.[4][5][6][7]
E-Commerce and Online Training
Salim transitioned from e-commerce to education by founding a YouTube and Facebook community where he mentored aspiring entrepreneurs. Encouraged by positive feedback, he launched Learning Master. The program focused on helping freelancers and consultants build sustainable online businesses through structured coaching and mindset development.[8]
Learning Master quickly gained traction, becoming known for its face-to-face learning approach and deep engagement with student goals. The platform’s selective admission process emphasized alignment with its values and long-term vision for sustainable entrepreneurship.
Decentralized Masters
In late 2022, Elhila co-founded Decentralized Masters with Tan Gera. The platform educates individuals about decentralized finance (DeFi), offering mentorship, market analysis, portfolio strategies, and community-driven learning. The venture launched just before the FTX exchange collapse, a pivotal moment that underscored the need for decentralized alternatives to centralized financial institutions.[9]
Despite early setbacks—such as blocked transactions and frozen funds—Decentralized Masters rapidly expanded. As of 2025, the platform has over 4000 members, employs more than 80 people across 27 countries, and has helped educate a community with a combined net worth of over $8 billion.[10]
The platform's in-house analysts produce comprehensive evaluations of DeFi projects, and its “Mastermind” program fosters a trusted, expert-led learning environment.[11]
