MySalahMat is UK based company who invented the interactive prayer mat designed to help Muslims learn the positions of the different body parts during Salah.[1][2] It has become an essential tool for all Muslims teach children or themselves the importance of prayer.[3][4] MySalahMat has revolutionized how Muslims learn Salah and have helped make it more accessible and enjoyable for them.[5][6]

History

MySalahMat was founded and created in 2018 by Kamal Ali, headquartered in Newport, South Wales.[7] The concept for MySalahMat interactive prayer mat originated from Ali's personal experience with his son, who was struggling to learn how to pray.[8][9] As a product designer, he realized there was a gap in the market for an educational and appealing prayer mat for children.[10] After creating a design sheet that featured the position of hands, knees, feet, forehead, and nose, he collaborated with a friend from Indonesia to make the prototype.[11][12][13][14]

Overview

What started as a simple soft touch prayer mat with prints quickly evolved into a touch-sensitive interactive mat with sounds and voice recordings.[15][16] The mat features buttons that children can push to learn how to perform wudu and recite duas for Ruku and Sujood. The mat also features prints of the main words used in prayer, such as Allahu Akbar.[17][18] The product went through over 20 prototypes and was developed with the help of professionals from factories, designers, translators, photographers, and patent lawyers.[19][20][21]

The product received wide reception from the Muslim community around the world.[22][23] Within four years of its inception, MySalahMat has been recognized as an essential contribution to the Muslim community, and it has won several awards for its design and innovation.[24][25] Various products offered by MySalahMat include prayer mats for kids and adults, activity books, children's books, and digital downloads.[26][27][28] Headquartered in South Wales, the company now exports vast volumes of its various products to several middle east countries such as Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE.[29][30]

Marketing strategy

The firm has a comprehensive marketing strategy, targeting popular platforms like TikTok and working with influencers to increase brand awareness.[31][32] They have partnered with the Malaysian animated cartoon studio Omar and Hana to expand the company's presence in Southeast Asia.[33] My Salah Mat plans to tap into their existing fanbase and gain credibility in the region by partnering with the animation on product design and featuring characters from their program.[34][35][36] They also aim to make the product more appealing to children, who are likely to be fans of the animated series.[37][38][39][40][41]
