Michael Maigeri Ede (born 03 March 1975) popularly known as Michael Ede, is a UK-based Nigerian entrepreneur, football agent, and investor.[1][2] He is the founder of Maigmike Consulting, a leading consulting firm, and Uplift11,[3] a sports career management firm.[4] Ede also serves as the director of training and development manager for Brighter Connect, a training company he developed with his wife.[5]

Ede is a Football Association (FA) Registered Intermediary and has over 16 years of experience in the management of various projects across the globe.[6] He has worked for some of the world's biggest financial institutions, consulting firms, and biopharma giants such as AstraZeneca, CapGemini, Lloyds Banking Group, and RBS to name a few.[7][8]

Ede is also a member of the Professional Football Agents Association (ProFAA) and AMBA. Apart from his vast industry experience, he has also done several certification courses in SAP, CSM DBS, ACP, and others. He has been featured in several media outlets for his accomplishments such as Haute Living,[9] Influencive,[10] Tech Times,[11] IB Times, Vents Magazine,[12] News Break, and others.

Early life and education

Ede was born in Nigeria, West Africa, on March 3, 1975. He earned his bachelor's degree in biochemistry with honors from the University of Jos in Nigeria, West Africa. Ede graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom with a master's degree in business administration in 2011.

Career

Ede started his career in September 2004 as a project support officer (contractor) at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He later became a junior finance project analyst at T-Mobile, Hatfield, in 2005.[13]

Then, Ede served as a project manager in multiple companies, including Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust, Santander Global Banking & Markets, Lehman Brothers, Atlantic Asset Management bank, RBS, and Lloyds Banking Group.[11]

In March 2014, Ede joined The Mont Consulting Ltd. as Pega project manager and later became senior delivery and release manager (head of projects) there. He also served as the Pega project manager, lead scrum master, and worked with HSBC across different departments. Ede, after that, worked with other leading organizations, financial institutions, and consulting firms including AstraZeneca, Barclays, Bank of Ireland, and Capgemini, to name a few.[14]

Ede founded his own consulting firm in 2016, and he is currently the Managing Director. A few years later, he and his wife founded Brighter Connect, a training company where he serves as Director of Training and Development. In the year 2020, he founded Uplift11, a sports management firm.[15][16] As the Managing Director of Uplift11,[17][18] he works as an agent for footballers like Tonći Kukoč, Lugiani Gallardo, Lewis Horner, Charlevy Mabiala, and coaches like Emanuele Ferraro and Sergey Matveyev.[19]

Personal life

Ede married Sarah Ede (Nee- Sarah Ejiama) in 2016. She is a British-Nigerian entrepreneur currently serving as the CEO of Brighter Connect. The couple has two children - a daughter named Anne Elizabeth, born in 2017, and a son named Jason Asher-Michael, born in 2020.
