Martin Rowinski is a technology expert, executive recruiting consultant, author, and speaker. He is the co-founder and CEO of Boardsi, a corporate executive recruitment firm. His vast experience and years of expertise are accentuated by a passion for building up executives and forging vital partnerships to drive business growth. He’s distinguished as an award-winning entrepreneur, highly respected for his leadership and skill in tech and recruitment.

With over 25 years of experience in technology and finance, Martin has built a rich entrepreneurial career and currently serves as CEO of his most recent venture, Boardsi, an emerging market leader in the executive board development process. Martin applies his many talents to his other professional pursuits and is a renowned speaker, advisor, and author featured in major media outlets including FastCompany, NASDAQ, CEO Today, Bloomberg, and Forbes.

Rowinski has leveraged his diverse background in executive leadership, business development, technology, and custom applications solutions into senior positions at companies such as Sundial, Inc, and SEP Connect. His programming languages, web applications, and other software management and development skills have equipped him to lead IT teams and operations with targeted efficiency.

Early Life

Martin Rowinski was born in Warsaw, Poland, and he would spend his early years under the regime of a communist country. His mother’s desire for a better life for her son took them on a nine-month journey through Italy and eventually to the United States where they landed in California. Martin embraced the freedoms of his new country and, from a young age, applied his determination and drive to succeed to entrepreneurial pursuits. Martin is bilingual and speaks both Polish and English proficiently.

Education and Career

Martin Rowinski graduated from California State University-Hayward in 1994 where he received a bachelor’s degree in computer information.[1]

Rowinski established himself initially with a career technology and marketing. He served as a Management Information Systems Director, Director of Marketing, Vice President of Sales, and Technology Consultant. From there, he would move into entrepreneurial endeavors.

In 2005, he started the Freedom Mortgage company in El Dorado Hills, California. Following, he was the Chief Technology Officer for SEP Connect, a startup that grew through initial funding during Rowinski’s tenure.[2]

Throughout his career, Rowinski has served as a consultant, helping teams and individuals at every level of professional development. He currently provides executive coaching and branding consulting services. In the span of his 25 years of experience with C-level executives, he has worked with over 24,000 board members and advisers across the United States.[3]

In 2017, Rowinski co-founded Boardsi, a SaaS-based corporate executive recruitment firm. Boardsi offers recruitment services through an online platform that allows companies and executives to match for Board of Directors and Board of Advisors positions.[4] Rowinski lead the development of Boardsi’s proprietary platform.[5] The company was valued at over $50 million.[3] Boardsi is currently headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, with additional offices in Reno, Nevada, and El Dorado Hills and Petaluma, California.

In 2017, Rowinski co-founded Boardsi, a SaaS-based corporate executive recruitment firm. Boardsi offers recruitment services through an online platform that allows companies and executives to match for Board of Directors and Board of Advisors positions. Rowinski lead the development of Boardsi’s proprietary platform. The company was valued at over $50 million. Boardsi is currently headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, with additional offices in Reno, Nevada, and El Dorado Hills and Petaluma, California.[4]

Rowinski authored The Corporate Matchmaker in 2021. The book outlines how to approach the corporate landscape, make connections, and achieve professional success.[4] His writing is also published in Forbes, Entrepreneur, FastCompany, NASDAQ, Bloomberg, and CEO Today.[5]

Since 2020, Mr. Rowinski has sat on the Board of Advisors for Shaparency,[6] a company specializing in digital board management, and he is a member of the Board of Advisors for Prosper AI.[7]

Rowinski has served as an expert and public speaker for many organizations, including Princeton University, Hope Global Forums, and Florida International University, among others.[8]

In 2023, Rowinski received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Marquis Who’s Who. In April of 2023, Rowinski led a discussion on women in the venture capital industry and used this opportunity to announce an active partnership with the VC community to promote diversity in board development within the sector.

Rowinski is a Forbes Business Council member, a FastCompany executive board member, and an Entrepreneur Leadership Network contributor.[9]

Recreational Activities & Philanthropic Endeavors

Martin Rowinski has coached competitive youth soccer for over 15 years.[1] He also actively volunteers with a veteran’s organization.[9] He spent three years with the International Leadership Development Global Group providing training to develop leadership skills. Rowinski’s business travels have led to a love for exploring new sights across the globe and affinity for connecting with people in diverse settings and scenarios.
