Luiz Fernando Costa Macambira is a Brazilian monegasque entrepreneur, Publisher, editor, trader, investor, media proprietor, Real Estate Developer, Equity Advisory. He was the CEO and Publisher of the Monaco and the Netherlands editions of Forbes Magazine from 2018 till 2022.[1] In 2003, with Christian Moore (Roger Moore’s son) he co-founded Jorgensen, a commodity trading firm based in Monaco and dealt with all the business related issues and took all the decisions.

Luiz is one of the board members of the prestigious Monaco Méditerranée Foundation under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. In 2022, he co-founded Monaco Voice www.monacovoice.com, a high-spirited news website focused on the Principality of Monaco. He is also well- known for his lavish parties in the Principality of Monaco and his communication skills as he is fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and other different levels of Italian and Russian conversation.[2][3]

Early life and education

Luiz was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 29 August 1967. He was from a upper middle class family background and the first child in the family. His father Mr.Romulo P Macambira was a professor and well- known medical doctor in Rio de Janeiro. His mother Maria Thereza Costa always tries to influence him from the beginning to be successful.

Luiz attended Colégio São Vicente de Paulo, a private school for his academics and then graduated from law school at University Federal of Rio de Janeiro.

Career

After getting a degree from Law school in 1985, Influenced by his mother's cousin, a former President of the prestigious IBC - Brazilian Coffee Institute, he started a coffee trading firm. Luiz shifted to Miami, Florida to construct a start-up coffee company. In 1990 he started searching for different business opportunities for his business in Russia. After all his efforts without wasting more time he implements his business strategies and convinces coffee producers to work with him to enter the Russian market.[4]

Luiz skills, determination and business strategies assist him to grow his business faster over his competitors. He is also known as “the King of Coffee” in the Russian market further he continued to expand his coffee business all over the globe so he captured the area where other companies refused to come. Luiz provides its coffee producers with different services which assist to develop a healthy way of transaction better them. Financing,insurance, access to retailers, and logistical solutions are the main services out of them.[5]

In 1990’s with the help of Russian partners Luiz engaged the whole Russian market with different coffee brands and became the main trader in the market. Further, he partnered with the biggest coffee exporter Luiz to cover the whole market of Russia. In 2017 he found a media company in Monaco with two other partners and on May 2018 he placed his name on the masthead of the Monaco edition of the Forbes Magazine as "Proprietor" for the first time, bringing the iconic media company to Monaco, and marking the beginning of his publishing history.[6][7]

Personal life

Luiz was married to Russian Natalia Vadimnova Agafieva; his marriage was held at Russian Orthodox in Moscow 1998. He has two children Alexander and Danny.
