Kenzi Wang is an American entrepreneur, investor, and technology executive known for early-stage venture capital, AI innovation, and global startup ecosystem development.[1] He is the co-founder of Symbolic Capital, a founder-focused investment firm,[2] and a core contributor at Beacon Accelerator, which supports companies building in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.[3] Wang also serves as an ecosystem advisor to Polygon Labs, where he contributes to strategic technology adoption and ecosystem growth.[4]

Prior to his current ventures, Wang held executive leadership roles at Huobi Global, where he was Vice President of Global Operations and General Manager of Huobi US, playing a key role in the company’s international expansion.[5] He began his entrepreneurial journey as the co-founder and CEO of Traction Labs, a marketing automation startup that was successfully acquired in 2017.[6]

Over the course of his career, Wang has invested in over 100 startups through direct initiatives and venture platforms, focusing on AI, infrastructure, and next-generation digital systems.[7] He is also the host of a founder-centric podcast and the author of the upcoming book Genesis Block, which explores startup-building strategies based on interviews with leading founders. Early life and education

Kenzi Wang studied Computer science at Columbia University and later earned an MBA from The Wharton School of Business.[8]

Career

Traction Labs (2013–2017)

Wang began his entrepreneurial journey in technology as the co-founder and CEO of Traction Labs Inc (2013–2017), a marketing automation company headquartered in San Francisco. Traction Labs was known for simplifying the marketing experience for enterprise clients and raised three rounds of funding from top-tier venture firms including New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and Lightbank. The company served major global brands such as Dove, SONY, Salesforce, Disney, and Absolut Vodka, and was recognized as a TechCrunch Disrupt finalist in 2014. It was successfully acquired in 2017.[9]

Huobi Global (2017–2020)

Following his startup exit, Wang joined Huobi Global in 2017 as Vice President of Global Operations and later served as General Manager of Huobi US. He played a foundational role in Huobi’s global growth, establishing its U.S. office and building out exchange operations during a time when few centralized platforms existed. His five-year tenure significantly contributed to Huobi’s expansion into over 100 countries.[10]

Borderless Capital (2020–2022)

Wang then served as a Partner at Borderless Capital from 2020 to 2022. Based in New York, the firm managed over $400 million in assets and invested in projects advancing global access to next-generation financial infrastructure. Wang’s work at Borderless focused on catalyzing technology adoption through capital investment and ecosystem enablement.[11]

Symbolic Capital (2022–Present)

In May 2022, Wang co-founded Symbolic Capital, a founder-focused venture capital firm backing early-stage teams globally. The firm supports ambitious entrepreneurs working at the frontier of technology, including infrastructure, AI, and digital platforms. Under Wang’s leadership, Symbolic has earned a reputation for combining hands-on guidance with strategic capital to scale products used by millions.[12]

Beacon Accelerator (2022–Present)

Since 2022, Wang has also been a core contributor to Beacon Accelerator, a program designed to accelerate startups in AI and decentralized infrastructure. Built by founders for founders, Beacon offers mentorship, network access, and tactical support to help early-stage teams scale effectively.[13]

Polygon Labs (2019–Present)

Wang has served as an Ecosystem Advisor to Polygon Labs since 2019. In this role, he supports strategic partnerships, ecosystem development, and technical adoption for one of the most prominent technology infrastructure platforms in the industry.[14]

Kenzi Wang Scholarship

Wang launched the Kenzi Wang Scholarship (KWS) to support young innovators in technology. The scholarship provides individual grants of $10,000 USD along with mentorship to teenagers around the world. It targets high-potential youths especially immigrants, first-generation students, and refugees who are eager to build projects in AI, blockchain/web3, or hardware. Recipients gain monthly office hours with Wang and the Symbolic Capital investment team, plus access to a network of fellow young builders and mentors. KWS aims to nurture the next generation of innovators in AI and technology by lowering barriers and providing guidance.[19]
