Karen Corcoran Walsh is a behavioral therapist based in Boca Raton, Florida. Karen specializes in mental health and addiction treatment in adolescents.[1] Karen has also an entrepreneur in the healthcare space and has previously co-founded a treatment center, Inspirations for Youth and Families.[2] She has made many appearances on national television to discuss issues involving addiction and mental health, is an author and spokesperson, has hosted a radio show, and launched a podcast to share her expertise.[3]

Education

Karen began her education on route to become a therapist at Nova Southeastern University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree for K-12 Education. From there, Karen continued at Nova to study Marriage and Family Therapy, where she received a Master of Science Degree. Since then, Karen has continued her education receiving many certificates and awards for therapy, and she continues her path towards a PhD.

Career

Karen Corcoran Walsh is a therapist but also has the drive of an entrepreneur and business woman, with 22 years of experience in education and healthcare. Karen has held many titles throughout her years in business including CEO, COO, Clinical Director, Director of Education, Compliance Officer and Educator.[4]

She is the co-founder of Fort Lauderdale based treatment center Inspirations for Youth and Families, which is a top-rated drug and alcohol treatment center for teens.[5]

Karen is a published author who has written many different papers and articles about behavioral therapy, and has made public appearances on nationally syndicated television programs to discuss mental health and addiction.[6]

Philanthropy

Karen is a advocate for the community and involved with many different charities as a philanthropist for many non-profit organizations including Boca Helping Hands, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Students Against Drunk Driving, 4 Kids Foster Care, NOPE Task Force, The Human Trafficking Coalition, and various other projects for veterans and with food distribution centers.[7]

In 2022, Karen launched the Karen Corcoran Walsh Scholarship for Mental Health Awareness, which awards scholarship funding for a student who plans on working in the mental health sector, along with generating awareness for mental health education.[8]
