Jonas Muthoni (born July 14, 1977) is a serial entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California.[1] He has established himself as a renowned digital marketing and business consultant who currently serves as the Founder and CEO of Deviate Agency, I Love Wine, Tappie & SomeFuse.[2] He is also the co-founder and CTO CareAsOne, a software platform that helps senior care facilities hire and retain candidates, and the Founder and Chairman of Sell.io, an online eCommerce acquisition marketplace.[3]
Jonas is a free-spirited avid philanthropist that enjoys giving back to the community. He likes to be involved with the community and different causes and has been a Breast Cancer Board member over the last five years.[4]
Being a thought leader in the digital marketing and software space, Muthoni has been able to organically build a network of like-minded people that is resourceful in providing brands and businesses best in class results.[5]
He has extensive experience in business leadership and has kickstarted several businesses from the ground up, and continues to do the same for his clients.[6] Under Jonas’s leadership, Deviate Agency has become one of the leading full-service digital agencies in Los Angeles, serving a wide range of clientele nationwide.[7]
Early life and education
Muthoni was born on July 14, 1977, in Nairobi, Kenya. He moved to Orange County, California, in 2005 and later to Los Angeles as part of his growth vision for Deviate Agency. In college, Jonas studied Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics.
Career
Muthoni began his career in 2007 at Verizon Wireless, where he worked as a Customer Experience quality assurance analyst and later a senior analyst in sales operations. In 2014, Muthoni began his entrepreneurial journey in the digital marketing space, where he solidified himself as a thought leader in the ever-changing industry.[8] Deviate Agency is now a leading marketing & advertising firm based in Los Angeles, California. Under his leadership, Deviate has become an industry leader in helping companies thrive in the online space by leveraging innovative strategies & technologies.[9] Muthoni currently serves as the CEO of this firm. In 2017, Muthoni also became a board member for Breast Cancer Angles, a non-profit organization that provides financial and emotional assistance for women and their families undergoing breast cancer treatment.[10]
Since starting Deviate, Muthoni has founded multiple other companies. In 2019, Muthoni co-founded CareAsOne, a distinctive hiring platform specially designed to revolutionize the home care industry by helping trusted Senior care facilities connect with the suitable candidates.[11]
In 2020 Muthoni founded SomeFuse, a PR, design, media, and content studio known for curating bespoke digital marketing strategies to help companies amplify their online presence. In the same year, he also became the CTO of Tappie and later acquired the company and transformed it into a conglomerate revolutionary monetization platform.[12]
In 2021 he acquired ilovewine.com publication and is a co-founder and chairman of sell.io corporation, an acquisition marketplace that allows business owners to list, sell or negotiate a sale of their online store to vetted & prequalified buyers.[13]
