Early life and education
Proskurina was born and raised in Stavropol, Russia. Her parents, Anatoly and Liubov Proskurina worked as a driver and bookkeeper, respectively. She completed her education in the public school system and received a scholarship to attend university.
At 19, Proskurina relocated to New York City to pursue her aspiration of becoming a model. In 2013, she successfully obtained an MBA in marketing from Touro University. Additionally, she participated in a summer program at Columbia University.
Proskurina embarked on a successful modeling career, collaborating with renowned brands like Armani, Hugo Boss, Anna Fountain, and Loreal, among several others. However, she experienced the cutthroat nature of the industry firsthand, struggling to find adequate agency support for castings, contracts, and travel arrangements.
Motivated by her challenges, Proskurina established Forma Models, a modeling agency that addresses the needs of newcomers and struggling models. The agency assists with visas, model apartments, photos, and castings, creating opportunities for aspiring European models.
Furthermore, Proskurina developed the UMMA bot, a chatbot offering personalized advice and industry insights. Additionally, she offers a specialized course titled "How to Become a Model in America and Beyond," sharing her invaluable expertise to empower young women in the modeling industry.
