Cornell Bunting (born July 31, 1979) is a Jamaican author and speaker based in the United States. He is best known for his books Escaping a Life Sentence and Escaping the Darkness,[1] autobiographical accounts that trace his journey of being imprisoned on false charges, and how he dealt with the trauma that came along with it.[2]
Bunting is counted as one of the well-known authors and has published 27 children’s books and 16 novels as of 2022 which include his best sellers Bunt Walk, Nostril Adventure, and Peedie Like the Drip Drop. He has gained mass public recognition for inspiring his readers and helping them understand the way of life.[3]
Bunting also is an active motivational speaker who offers keynotes and inspirational speeches that cover his life experiences. Many of his talks center around how he got out of prison and his miraculous coming-back-to-life incident, which he is most known for.
Early life and education
Bunting was born to Ruth Phoenix and Windel Bunting on July 31, 1979. He grew up in Jamaica until he was eight years old and then came to England, where he discovered a new passion for English literature and theater writing. In 2020, he graduated from Rasmussen University with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Career
Bunting started his career in 2009 as a valet at The Resort at Marina Village, where he worked for over two years. He was then falsely accused on 16 charges of conspiracy, extortion, kidnapping, and possible murder and imprisoned for a crime he did not commit in 2013. He served ten months behind bars in maximum security jail and another two years fighting those charges. In 2015, got released from jail, and his record was expunged the following year.[4]
Bunting’s one of the most popular children’s books, Lion with No Roar: Finding His Calling, which mirrors his life, telling a story of love, betrayal, and redemption. While in jail, he authored four other books. Since then, he has written 27 children’s books and 16 novels, including a memoir, called Escaping a Life Sentence. His books share his experience in his life and in the process inspire the readers where he pens down some of the important life lessons, and motivational messages.
Apart from that, Bunting also runs a podcast show titled The Cornell Bunting Show and serves as the CEO of EHAS Inc.

Personal life
Bunting was falsely accused and imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. He was attending Next Level Church in 2016 when he suffered a heart attack. He had been clinically dead for 16 minutes until God's miracle revived him.
