Agon Avdimetaj (born January 1, 1992) is a Kosovar technology entrepreneur, author, and software engineer known for his contributions to artificial intelligence, blockchain, and healthcare technology.[1] He is the co-founder and head of research and development at Vianova Health, a digital health technology company. He is the co-founder and managing partner of Zombie Soup,[2] a software development company.[3]

Avdimetaj serves as co-founder and CTO for several tech startups,[4] spanning sectors such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare Industry. Notable among the startups he has co-founded are Sequence.NYC, Hello, Fatcat Games, Vast, HeyMeta, and Quantum Camel. He is the author of the book “The NFT Paradigm: How Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) Are Leading The Change Beyond Digital Art,” released in July 2021.[5]

Renowned for his contributions to healthcare technology, Avdimetaj received the Tech Innovation of the Year award in April 2019 and the Software Impact of the Year award in 2021 from the Albanian ICT awards in association with Vianova Health.[6] Avdimetaj is also a blockchain advisor at TRPP.

Early life and education

Avdimetaj was born and raised in Peja, Kosovo. From a young age, he developed a keen interest in technology. Notably, at 15, Avdimetaj founded his first tech company, Graphsix Studio and then transformed to Appsix later. Appsix LLC specializes in mobile app development.

In 2013, he graduated with an electrical and computer engineering degree from the University of Pristina. During his final year, Avdimetaj, with his five friends, created "Skenderman," an illustrated mobile game merging the histories of Superman and Albanian hero Scanderbeg. "Skenderman" earned recognition by winning the "AppCamp 2012" National Competition for Best App, organized by the Kosovar Foreign Ministry.

Avdimetaj further pursued advanced studies in behavior design under guidance of BJ Fogg at Stanford University.[7]

Career

Avdimetaj is the co-founder and managing partner of Zombie Soup,[8] a software development company established in 2014. Zombie Soup specializes in developing products focused on artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and healthcare technology. Throughout the years, the company has created various products, including Captain 13, Yanone, and Wired Pixel, as well as healthcare applications like Sleep Tracker, Spin Dizzy, Symptoms Tracker, Diabetes Tracker, Heart Rate, and Stress Therapy apps.[9]

In 2017, Avdimetaj co-founded Vianova Health, a digital health technology company focused on developing positive habits and promoting healthy behavioral norms through its solutions. Vianova Health's platform assist individuals in managing chronic conditions and maintaining a healthy lifestyle with tools and resources to track and improve their overall well-being.[10][11]

The Vianova AI platform aims to benefit both patients and healthcare providers. In 2020, Vianova partnered with Lenovo for their platform to offer multi-condition care planning with remote biometric monitoring and patient education.[12][13] The platform connects patient with an integrated digital assistant that reinforces healthy habits that lead to healthy outcomes and reduced treatment costs. It reduces unnecessary office visits and gives patients interactive 24/7 help with chronic conditions.[14] It helps educate patients with a biometric devices that transmit patients' vital data and keeps them engageged so that can participate in their own care and learn more about their chronic conditions. It helps in increasing care plan compliance to drive better patient satisfaction and promotes healthy outcomes.[15]

Additionally, Avdimetaj holds the position of co-founder and CTO in multiple technology companies operating under the umbrella of Timeless.NYC, a holding company known for incubating innovative ideas and supporting tech startups.[16][17]

  • Sequence.NYC: The company specializes in blockchain development, with a focus on creating web3 experiences, particularly in areas such as games, collectibles, loyalty programs, and smart contracts.
  • Vast: Vast is the first multimedia NFT platform globally, offering a marketplace for the purchase and sale of NFTs. These NFTs encompass various forms of multimedia content, including images, audio, and video.
  • Hello: This mobile application facilitates brief two-minute conversations between users, fostering connections that can lead to various outcomes, such as social interactions, friendships, or even dating.
  • FatCat Games: FatCat Games is a developer and publisher of mobile and VR games spanning several genres, including adventure, strategy, puzzles, and action games, aiming to provide engaging gaming experiences.
  • HeyMeta: HeyMeta promotes growth within the Web3 ecosystem, emphasizing advancing the adoption and integration of blockchain and AI technologies.
  • Quantum Camel: Quantum Camel operates as an AI development studio, delivering innovative AI solutions to individuals and businesses to enhance efficiency and decision-making processes.

Leveraging his experience in cryptocurrency projects, Avdimetaj authored "The NFT Paradigm" in July 2021. The book comprises 12 chapters, each offering valuable insights into the world of NFTs and their potential beyond digital art. Avdimetaj explores various use cases, highlighting the unique and irreplaceable nature of NFTs as digital assets.

Vianova was rewarded as top 10 remote patient monitoring platforms in 2022.[18]
