Aayush Puri is an Indian entrepreneur and business executive based in UAE.[1] He is the founder of ANACITY, a PropTech-driven community management system designed exclusively for Middle Eastern markets.[2] Puri is also a renowned speaker and is often seen at global conferences like PropTech Summit and Smart Built Environmental Forum, speaking on the topics of technology, software development, entrepreneurship, and infrastructure management.
In his diversified career, Puri has gained over a decade’s experience and has worked with multiple renowned firms like JLL, Ruffalo Noel Levitz, Net Impact, Mphasis, and others. He specializes in software development, outsourcing, IoT, AI, and big data.
Puri has been featured in several media outlets for his achievements as an under 30 business executive such as AIN News, Business Standard,[3] MarketWatch,[4] Digital Journal,[5][6] Middle East News Dispatch,[7] EIN News,[8] and others.[9]
Early life and education
Puri was born in Delhi and brought up in Mumbai. Later he acquired a bachelor’s degree in Econometrics & Quantitative Economics from Washington University in St. Louis with a minor in South Asian Politics. During his time there, Puri was a member of the Economic Council. He then enrolled in the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he studied statistics.
Career
Puri started his career in 2016 as a research analyst at JLL. After working for a brief period there, Puri in 2017 started working in sales at Ruffalo Noel Levitz, a company based out of St. Louis, USA.[10]
In 2019, Puri was appointed as a VP of Operations at Net Impact, where he served for a year and later in the year, he joined Mphasis as a business analyst & project manager, where he worked till 2021.
During his voyage of travel and settlement at different cities for education and job, Puri faced several challenges for housing, including a lack of a communication platform between residents and governing committees of communities, a significant reliance on manual work for financial management, and also he found several security concerns. This is where he found the opportunity and decided to start his entrepreneurial career. Puri founded ANACITY, a PropTech-driven community management software firm with offices in the UAE and India, in 2021. ANACITY is based on the ApnaComplex platform, which was recently bought by ANAROCK, whose technology, as of 2021, serves over 6,000 gated communities and 600,000 apartments in 80 cities, making it one of the fastest-growing companies in the Community & Apartment Management industry.[11]
Apart from that, Puri has also ventured into the entertainment industry. He has produced two films Ramji Londonwaley in 2005 and Amar, Akbar, and Tony in 2015.[12]
Awards and recognition
Puri’s ANACITY was named the Best PropTech Start-up in the UAE by Best Startup Magazine Asia. He also received the Entrepreneur of the PropTech Start-up of the Year award in 2021.
