Dr.Tulio Capriles Mendoza is a businessman and publisher, He served as Venezuela’s Operation director and is now CEO for Capriles Media Group and Capriles Group of Companies and he has other businesses led by El Siglo[1] (Founded in 1973).[2][3]
Early in life
Dr.Tulio Capriles Mendoza was interested in both finance and media. He attended and graduated in 1995 “Licenciatura” majoring in Business Administration with a minor in International Business and Finance from American University in Washington, D.C. Then in 1997, he got an MBA in Business and Latin American Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University between Baltimore, MD and Washington, D.C. He also has an Honoris Doctorate in Communications Mass Media from UBA University.
WORKING IN VENEZUELA
After this in 1997, he moves to Venezuela to work for his family business in the head quaters in Maracay, Aragua a central region of the country.He quickly rose through the ranks in the family organization and newspaper ranking. His first major assignment was to run the Basketball Profesional|Professional Team Toros de Aragua, and reorganized a private company the LIGA PROFESIONAL DE BALONCESTO DE VENEZUELA (LPB).[4][5]
GROWING ON CRISIS
In contrast, Capriles Mendoza focused and engineered advertisements and big public events for promotion of the brands. El Siglo is until now the second most respected and recognized in the region (only after TIGRES DE ARAGUA, a traditional baseball team).
For many years, and as a great promotional tool, he used his automobile delers Jeep, Chrysler, Hyundai, Dodge, and Mazda network, they agresively raflle new cars every year free for their media followers thru just one free coupon printed in the daily edition. These events were free of charge and collapse the city while 20,000 people gather to see a free concert and the winner for the El Siglo’s car. Many tv celebrities were invited to participate as well as big music stars to perfomed in this large promotional events.
Capriles Mendoza was able to compile[6] a big database for sales with personal information and secrets about opponents newspapers to gain advertising agencies. Unafraid to use the aggresive marketing skillls, he didn't back down to take the lead nationally and took many great executives to join his team in sales. He became known from Aragua to Venezuela’s media circles as a big player in marketing campaign operative and news person as the “PRINCE OF MEDIA”. His creative techniques were often known as creative and market makers.[7]
AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
Dr. Capriles was given an Honoris Doctorate by Universidad Bicentenaria de Aragua in Media Communications, the Tacarigua Award for Business person of the year 2019, Premios Icaro Internacional as an Editor in 2018, Premio Lo mejor Digital Award, P! Ideas Award in 2019, Award for Achievements by Florida Global University in Miami , Fl, and it was recognize by the former Governor Rick Scott as one of the prominet Entrepreneur in Florida 2017.[8][9][10][11]
