Thomas Puech (born 4 November 1992 in Paris, France) is a French entrepreneur, digital asset investor, and business executive. He is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of INDIGO Fund, a digital asset investment platform focused on institutional yield strategies and decentralized finance (DeFi) infrastructure. He is also Managing Partner at SH Digital, an institutional cryptocurrency brokerage specializing in liquidity provision, execution, and treasury solutions.[1]
Thomas Puech is known for his work in institutional digital asset markets, particularly in developing yield strategies, liquidity frameworks, and market-neutral investment approaches. His career has focused on bridging traditional finance structures with emerging decentralized financial systems, with an emphasis on execution, liquidity, and risk management.
Early life and background
Thomas Puech was born and raised in Paris, France. This early exposure to entrepreneurship influenced his perspective on business and long-term value creation.
He spent his early years in Paris before moving to London after completing his baccalauréat to pursue higher education and international opportunities. From an early stage, he developed strong interests in finance, music, and emerging technologies.
A defining turning point in his career came in 2016 when he discovered cryptocurrency while working as an analyst. This early entry into digital asset markets positioned him at the forefront of what would later become a major institutional investment category. The combination of financial markets and blockchain technology became a central focus of his professional path.
Education
Thomas Puech completed his education between France and the United Kingdom, developing an international business perspective early in his career.
He attended École des Roches in France before pursuing higher education in business and finance. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Grenoble Graduate School of Business (London campus) and later completed a Master’s degree at Cass Business School (now Bayes Business School), City, University of London.
Career
Early career
Thomas Puech began his professional career in traditional finance as a Business Analyst at Christofferson, Robb & Company (2017–2018), an investment firm specializing in credit strategies. During this period, he developed foundational skills in institutional finance, analytics, and structured investment processes.
In 2018, he transitioned into a front-office role at Square Global Markets as an Equity Derivatives Sales-Trader, gaining direct exposure to trading environments, execution workflows, and client relationship management.
Enigma Securities (2018–2022)
Thomas Puech joined Enigma Securities, one of the first FCA-regulated institutional cryptocurrency brokerages, where he spent four years during the early phase of institutional adoption of digital assets.
Over time, he rose to the position of Managing Director. During this period, he built expertise in institutional crypto trading, liquidity provision, and market structure, working closely with hedge funds, family offices, and crypto-native firms.
His role involved managing client relationships, overseeing trading activity, and contributing to the development of institutional crypto market infrastructure during a formative stage of the industry.
Founding of INDIGO Fund
After several years operating in institutional crypto markets, Thomas Puech left Enigma Securities in 2021 to pursue entrepreneurship.
Together with Nathanaël Cohen, he identified a structural inefficiency in digital asset markets: significant amounts of capital held in cryptocurrencies were not being actively deployed to generate yield, leaving billions of dollars in digital assets underutilized.
In early 2022, Thomas Puech co-founded INDIGO Fund alongside Nathanaël Cohen and entrepreneur BLOND:ISH (Vivie-Ann Bakos). The fund was created to bridge the gap between traditional finance standards and decentralized finance opportunities.
The platform focuses on institutional-grade digital asset yield strategies, with emphasis on liquidity-first design without long-term lock-up structures, risk management and capital preservation, execution quality and operational efficiency, and market-neutral and relative-value strategies.
INDIGO Fund launched with approximately $5.5 million in initial capital from investors including Winklevoss Capital, The Sandbox, MoonPay’s CEO, and Barry Sternlicht, CEO of Starwood Capital. The platform has since grown to approximately $25 million in assets under management and serves a global client base of institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.
SH Digital
In parallel, Thomas Puech co-founded SH Digital, an institutional cryptocurrency brokerage platform developed in partnership with a financial group led by the former CEO of MoneyGram.
SH Digital provides crypto-to-fiat on and off-ramp solutions, large-scale execution services, and liquidity and treasury solutions for institutional clients. The platform serves hedge funds, asset managers, corporates, and payment companies, and operates as a bridge between traditional finance and digital assets, enabling institutions to access deep liquidity and execute large transactions across multiple currencies and digital assets efficiently.
Current roles and responsibilities
Thomas Puech is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of INDIGO Fund, where he oversees global strategy, investor relations, and business development.
His responsibilities include defining the fund’s strategic direction, leading capital raising and institutional investor relationships, structuring and scaling digital asset yield products, and developing partnerships and expanding ecosystem presence.
He is also Managing Partner at SH Digital, where he contributes to the development of institutional brokerage infrastructure and liquidity solutions.
Areas of expertise and industries
Thomas Puech operates across the following industries: cryptocurrency, digital assets, institutional finance, and decentralized finance (DeFi).
