Suyash Keshari is a 25-year-old wildlife presenter, filmmaker and conservationist from India.[1]

He has worked on projects with organizations such as WWF International and Animal Planet and published in several national and international newspapers and magazines including National Geographic, Outlook Traveller, Times of India[2] and have appeared on media channels such as NDTV and Aaj Tak[3] to speak on topics of wildlife and conservation.

LIFE AND EDUCATION

Suyash Keshari was born in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh on 24th January, 1996. His father ICP Keshari is an IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh Cadre, and hence much of his childhood was spent in various cities of the Central Indian States of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. His love for wildlife began when he was around four, watching birds and fishes in his backyard and studying their behaviours. He completed his schooling from Sanskriti Global School in Delhi.

After his 12th grade, he shifted to the United States to pursue his undergrad studies at Wake Forest University, North Carolina. Contrary to popular belief, he didn’t pursue Zoology or Photography but was a Major in Political Science and International Affairs, with Minors in Journalism and Entrepreneurship.

After the completion of his graduation he began working in the U.S. House of Representatives, followed by a political advocacy firm. It was in the summer of 2019, when he decided to return to India to fulfill his dream to be a full time wildlife presenter and filmmaker.[4]

WORK AND ACHIEVEMENTS

An award-winning wildlife photographer, Suyash has worked on several projects with World Wide Fund for Nature, and with Animal Planet as a live host and have been covered by several publications worldwide.

At the age of 19, he became one of the youngest people to win the Nature’s Best Photography Asia Award, for a photograph of a six-month-old tigress. This photo was exhibited for a year at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington D.C.[5]

Suyash was the finalist for the Sustainable Category Award of the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.

Suyash shot his first wildlife film when he was interning with Africa Media. It was called “On the trail of the African Lion”. He filmed the concept of tracking different animals on foot and following the lives of African rangers who risk their lives every single day just to ensure the safety of wildlife.

Recently, Suyash produced his first series #SafariwithSuyash for WWF International which happens to be a real-life web series about a young person’s life with tigers and conservation issues surrounding the species, centered in Bandhavgarh National Park, India. The final episode of the series was screened in Bhopal amongst the presence of several important dignitaries including the then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Kamal Nath and the Minister of Tourism. It was released on YouTube between 6th Dec 2019 and January 10th, 2020[6].[7]

SAFARI WITH SUYASH- Season 1

Since a very young age Suyash wanted to produce and host his own wildlife series. He began shooting in Bandhavgarh National Park in 2019 to trace the life of a tigress called Solo and her cubs. The show was picked up by WWF International for a web release across the world.[8] The show garnered huge success and was showcased at the United Nations Convention on Migratory Species (13th). Back in India, the final episode of the series was screened in Bhopal amongst the presence of several important dignitaries including the then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Kamal Nath and the Minister of Tourism.

This series set the ball rolling and it was then that, a series took the shape of a brand. ‘Safari with Suyash’ the brand came into existence and spread out across the wildlife tourism map of India. Suyash started conducting tours to several national parks in India and Africa. Suyash now has taken several people on safaris across India and Africa.

The Safari with Suyash brand has grown to cover many initiatives related to wildlife conservation, forest community upliftment, virtual safari experiences as well as in-person safari tours, and nature content creation such as films and photo stories.

SAFARI WITH SUYASH: TV

Suyash Keshari, on 9th October 2021, launched India's first wildlife OTT platform, Safari with Suyash - TV. [9][10]He launched India's first virtual safari experience on the platform on 17th October, 2021.[11] This is the first of its kind in India, where people can watch virtual safaris from the comfort of their homes.
