Chhattisgarh is a landlocked state in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, in the area of Central India. On November 1, 2000, it was given statehood after previously being a part of Madhya Pradesh. With a total land area of 135,192 km2, it is the ninth-largest state in India (52,198 sq mi). As of 2021, the state has a population of around 30 million (3 crore), ranking it as the 17th most populous state in the nation overall.

Ten Chhattisgarhi and six Gondi-speaking districts in the southeast of Madhya Pradesh were combined to establish the state, which was founded by the division of the state. Raipur serves as the country's capital. Uttar Pradesh is on its northern border, Madhya Pradesh on its northwest border, Maharashtra on its southwest border, Jharkhand on its northeast border, Odisha on its eastern border, and Telangana and Andhra on its southern border. Currently, it is divided into 32 districts.

Located in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, it is one among the country's fastest-growing regions. A per capita Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of 102,762 rupees (US$1,400) is generated by its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), which is 3.63 lakh crore rupees (US$48 billion). Chhattisgarh, a resource-rich state, is a major supplier of energy, coal, and steel to the rest of the country.

Following the completion of the 'Swachh Survekshan 2020,' it was declared by Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri that it has earned the title of cleanest state once again in 2020, with more than 100 Urban Local Bodies.
