Early life and education

Benz was born on January 14, 1986, in Bondi, Australia. She grew up in Sydney, Australia, where she completed her high school education. She started her career in the fashion industry as an intern at a fashion magazine and later advanced to the position of assistant stylist.

Career

Benz started her professional career as a freelance fashion stylist for advertising campaigns, fashion editorials, and designer collections in Australia.[4] She has worked at various Australian fashion magazines and brands, such as Russh Magazine, Karen Magazine, Vs. Magazine, Sony Music, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and Vanity Fair.[5]

At 24, she moved to New York City to further her career, collaborating with renowned fashion magazines and celebrities. As a stylist, Benz has worked for various celebrities, including Ruby Rose, Michael Buble, Caty Blanchett, Kylie Minogue, and Sara Sampaio. She has also worked alongside photographers such as Annie Leibovitz and Ellen Von Unworth.[6]

In 2014, Benz founded All My Friends Are Models,[7][8] an online fashion blog featuring the realities of the modeling industry.[9] The blog features interviews, fashion tips, and lifestyle advice, aiming to dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding modeling. Benz serves as the editor and CEO of the blog, with offices in Sydney, Los Angeles, and New York.[10]

In April 2015, Benz moved to Montauk and joined The Surf Lodge as the Creative Director.[11][12] The Surf Lodge is a boutique hotel in Montauk known for hosting music and fashion events.[13] As the Creative Director, Benz was responsible for brand activations, decor, event layouts, celebrity attendance, VIPs, sponsorships, partnerships, pop-ups, and creating memorable moments for guests.[14][15]

Throughout her career, Benz has amassed a network of contacts.[16] In September 2017, recognizing the need for a streamlined approach to managing her connections, she founded Cinq. Cinq is a digital platform that serves as a digital business card and a detailed address book, facilitating the exchange of contact information, connecting with nearby users, and making introductions.[17]

In 2018, Benz launched two retail spaces, Wyld Blue and Wyld Black, in Montauk. These stores, named after her two eldest children, offer curated collections of vintage and contemporary fashion pieces with beachy aesthetics. The stores blend luxury staples with bohemian complements, featuring high-end luxury fashion and lifestyle products from sought-after brands such as Hermès, Chanel, Prada, Chanel, Chole, and Louis Vuitton, among others.[18][19]

Wyld Blue holds locations in Montauk, Aspen, West Village NYC and Dallas.[20][21]
