Roman Sledziejowski (born 18 December 1980) is a Polish-American businessman, management consultant based in Washington.[1] He is recognized for becoming the youngest National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) licensed stockbroker in the United States at the age of 18. Sledziejowski is currently the Vice-Chairman of Savant Strategies, a management consulting firm.[2] He is also the Founding Board Member of the Foundation for Victims of Misconduct and Fraud of Bankruptcy Officials.

Sledziejowski, a Columbia University graduate, has over two decades of experience in the finance sector and has worked with a number of leading companies in NYC such as Salomon Smith Barney, Prudential Securities, Wachovia Securities, TWS Financial,[3] and Innovest Holdings.[4]

Sledziejowski is often interviewed in the media to share his opinion on managing business effectively, leadership and identifying business opportunities.[5]

Early life and education

Sledziejowski was born on 18 December 1980 to Jerzy and Elzbieta Sledziejowski in Poznan, Poland. While he was in high school, Sledziejowski was the captain of his varsity soccer team, where he played striker and was named the most valuable player (MVP) three years in a row. He also competed in several meets across New York State as a member of his high school's varsity track and field team. He later enrolled at Columbia University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Career

Sledziejowski began his professional career at Salomon Smith Barney, a Member of Travelers Group, in New York City at the age of 17, working part-time at the investment bank during his senior year of high school.[6] He became the youngest NASD-licensed stockbroker in the United States at the age of 18 and started his career as an Investment Associate at Smith Barney, a Citigroup company.[7]

Sledziejowski joined Prudential Securities in New York City as Vice President of Investments in 2002. He rose to the rank of First Vice President of Investments in 2004.[8] He then started working at Wachovia Securities as Senior Vice President and Investment Officer when he was 25 years old. Wachovia Securities was the third largest investment firm in the United States at the time. Sledziejowski began making personal investments in multi-family rental homes in New York, Tennessee, and Arkansas while working at Wachovia Securities. Between 2004 and 2009, he purchased and redeveloped over 400 residential units through various partnerships.[9]

In 2006 Sledziejowski founded Innovest Holdings, a New York City-based financial holding company. It operates through its four main subsidiaries: TWS Financial, TradeWallStreet.com, TWS Investment Partners, and TWS Capital Partners.[10] TWS Financial is a full-service broker-dealer with more than $500 million in yearly market transactions. It specializes in serving overseas high-net-worth individuals and international financial institutions. TradeWallStreet.com is a premier online Broker/Dealer platform that caters specifically to the needs of individual investors. TWS Capital Partners is an offshore investment advisor with client assets of over $1 billion, and TWS Investment Partners is a real estate investment and finance company with over $100 million in real estate projects. He left this holding company in 2013.[11]

Sledziejowski co-founded MyPlace Development, Sp. Z o.o., a real estate development business based in Poznan, Poland, in 2007 with Sebastian Kulczyk, who served as the company's chief executive officer until early 2010, and Roman Sledziejowski, served as the company's Chairman of the Board until early 2010. RJS sold his equity position in MyPlace Development to Kulczyk Real Estate Holding SARL in Luxembourg for $7.3 million in cash in December 2009.[12]

In 2013, Sledziejowski co-founded Savant Strategies, a management consulting firm.[13] In 2016, he took an extended leave of absence from the company. In 2021 he returned to Savant Strategies and is currently serving as the Vice-Chairman.[14] The company provides management consulting services to middle-market companies primarily in Latin America, Europe, and South Africa.
