Mohamed Ghaith (born July 9, 1989) is an Egyptian technology entrepreneur, crypto trader, and avionics engineer. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Drofie, a pocket-sized selfie camera; Zeew, an on-demand delivery platform; and Stunning.so, an AI-enabled website and portal builder. Ghaith is widely regarded as a serial entrepreneur with multiple skill sets, including business development, strategy formation, marketing, finance, anti-money laundering, AML procedures, and avionics integration.[1][2]

Ghaith's unique products have been highlighted in numerous journals and periodicals, including TNW, TechVoize, True Africa, Disrupt,[3] Times of Zambia, and others.[4][5]

Early life and education

Ghaith was born and reared in the Egyptian city of Alexandria. He completed his civil engineering education in Egypt before relocating to Europe. In 2014, he graduated from Riga Technical University with a degree in avionics engineering.

Ghaith has always been enthusiastic about entrepreneurship. At 16, he created his first software and sold it door-to-door in his hometown. In 2006, at age 17, Ghaith won "The young programmer competition" hosted by Alexandria Governorate. Following this, he was selected for the USA scholarship provided by I-EARN Egypt.

Ghaith has also earned certifications from Udemy in anti-money laundering methods, financial terrorism prevention, and AML controls and processes.

Career

In 2010, in addition to pursuing avionics engineering, Ghaith began working at an American travel agency and assisting travelers with ticket reservations. During the next three years, he worked in the same position and began to develop his business concept.[6][7]

Ghaith joined FXOpen in 2013 as regional director for the Gulf Region, Middle East, and North Africa. He supervised the trading accounts against money laundering and ensured that investments adhered to AMC policies and regulations.[8]

Due to the increasing popularity of drones in Europe, Ghaith created the Drofie, a folding pocket drone selfie camera.[9] In 2016, Ghaith won a Swiss grant for one of the best gadgets and received funding from Switzerland. The funds allowed for the product's prototype and industrial design following the establishment of Drofie, a company that manufactures and sells GPS-enabled auto-follow drone cameras. Drofie selfie cameras are now available on Banggood, Amazon, AliExpress, and other online retailers. The product is estimated to have over thousand users worldwide.[10]

Ghaith started Zeew in 2017 as an on-demand delivery business. The company intends to deliver packages using drones and robots.[11] In the latter half of 2018, the company transitioned into a white-label provider for on-demand delivery systems such as food, medicine, and shopping. Currently, Zeew systems are being utilized in over 100 countries globally.[12]

Ghaith's other professional affiliations include senior relationship manager for Exante and a financial journalist for Dukascopy Bank SA.[13]

Personal life

Currently, Ghaith resides in Latvia. He is an ardent reader who enjoys reading entrepreneurship and personal development books. Gary Vaynerchuk, Larry Sanger, Roger Ver, and Lazar Angelov, among other notable personalities and entrepreneurs, serve as his key influences.
