Luiz Felipe Chaves d’Avila[1] (born 24 August, 1963) is scientist, politician, and founder of the Center for Public Leadership (Brazilian Portuguese language: Centro de Liderança Pública, CLP). Currently he is the presidential candidate for the New Party (Brazil) in the 2022 Brazilian general election.

Career

In 2008, d'Avila founded the Center for Public Leadership, a non-profit organization sponsored by large companies such as Gerdau and Itaú Unibanco, which claims to seek to develop public leaders "committed to promoting transformative changes."

He is the author of history and politics books[2]. Among the works, we highlight “O Twilight of an Era”, “Dona Veridiana: The trajectory of a São Paulo dynasty”, “Os Virtuosos”, “Character and Leadership: Nine Statesmen who Built Brazilian Democracy”, “ Cosimo de Medici - Memoirs of a Renaissance Leader” and the “10 Commandments: From the Country We Are to the Brazil We Want”.

Personal life

Luiz Felipe d'Avila, son of the calculating engineer Aluízio d'Avila and Maria Christina Pacheco Chaves, comes from a family with a tradition in national politics. He is the grandson of federal deputy João Pacheco e Chaves (MDB-SP), now deceased, who presided over the extinct IBC (Brazilian Coffee Institute) and was Secretary of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo. He has two brothers: Frederico, a Liberal Party (Brazil, 2006) deputy for São Paulo[3], and Luís Henrique. He is married to Ana Maria Diniz, daughter of businessman Abílio Diniz , with whom he has two children, Andrea and João Luís. He is the great-great-grandson of fellow politician Elias Antônio Pacheco e Chaves.
