Politician

A politician is a person who is actively involved in party politics or who has or is pursuing an elected position in government. Politicians are responsible for proposing, supporting, and enacting legislation that governs the land and, by implication, the people who live on it. A "politician" may be defined as someone who aspires to gain political power inside the government in general terms.

Politicians are those who are involved in politics, particularly in the realm of party politics. Governmental roles vary from municipal governments to state governments to federal governments to world governments, among other levels of government. Politicians are defined as anybody who has been elected to a position of authority.
