Lissa Coffey (born Lisa Marie Coffey; April 25) is an American author, speaker, producer, media personality, and educator known for her work in personal development, spirituality, Ayurveda, meditation, and contemporary interpretations of Eastern philosophy. She is known for her "Ancient Wisdom, Modern Style" philosophy and has authored numerous books on wellness, spirituality, and self-improvement.[1]

Early Life and Education

Lissa Coffey was born and raised in Palo Alto, California, in the United States.. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology.

While still attending UCLA, Coffey began working for ABC Entertainment. After graduating, she joined the Special Projects Department at ABC in Century City, California.

Career

Following her work at ABC Entertainment, Coffey worked in front of the camera as a model and actor, before founding Bamboo Entertainment in 1992. Through the company, she created and produced entertainment and media projects, including music and songs under the Bright Ideas Productions record label, and music videos that aired on Nickelodeon and other outlets.

Coffey later worked as a lifestyle feature reporter and anchor for KADY-TV, where she produced and hosted segments for television newscasts. She became a frequent guest on daytime television programs and made multiple appearances on The Today Show and Good Morning America.

She gained wider recognition as the Feng Shui design expert and a series regular on HGTV's Crowded House. Throughout her career, Coffey has contributed to television, radio, print, and digital media as a commentator on wellness, spirituality, relationships, and lifestyle topics.

As an author, Coffey has written more than 20 books covering subjects such as personal growth, spirituality, Ayurveda, meditation, and mindful living. She has also developed online educational programs and courses offered through Udemy.

As a producer and screenwriter. Coffey has several film and television projects in development.

Song Divine

Coffey co-wrote and co-produced Song Divine: The Bhagavad Gita Rock Opera with composer David Vito Gregoli. The project adapts themes from the Bhagavad Gita into a contemporary musical format. The concept album for the stage production has been described as one of the first English-language musical interpretations of the Bhagavad Gita. Songs from the project are available on major streaming platforms worldwide.[2]

Philosophy and Teaching

Coffey’s is known for promoting what she calls "Ancient Wisdom, Modern Style," approach seeks to make traditional spiritual teachings accessible and relevant to contemporary audiences. Her work draws from Vedanta, Ayurveda, meditation practices, and other philosophical traditions originating in India and around the world.[3]

She has traveled internationally as a speaker and educator, presenting seminars, workshops, and lectures on wellness, spirituality, and personal transformation.[4]

Community Involvement

Coffey has been active with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County, serving as a board member and volunteering as a Big Sister to three girls. She has also participated in charitable, educational, and community-focused initiatives throughout her career.[5]

Personal Life

Coffey is married to Greg Coffey. The couple married in 2001.

She is a student of Vedanta and has visited India multiple times as part of her ongoing study of spiritual philosophy and culture.
