Kaio Philipe is an entrepreneur and executive, best known as the co-founder of Bloomberg Linea.[1] Philipe is on the board of the International News Media Association (INMA), serving as the Vice President[2] and is a member of The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences,[3] the Emmy International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the CMO Council. He also serves as a judge at The Adrian Awards, The Webby Awards, and the international Emmys.

As an executive, he has worked for companies like Google, Baidu, Kayak.com, Citibank, and Standard Chartered. With an extensive digital background, Philipe is known to have expanded Kayak.com and Cheapflghts.com in several emerging markets.

Bloomberg Línea is a Bloomberg Media partnership with Falic Media in Latin America.[4] It is a digital media platform covering financial markets and businesses within more than 20 countries in the Americas, launched by Leon Falic (Duty Free Americas President),[5] Kaio Philipe, and Bloomberg Media on August 10th, 2021.[6] The platform publishes original content in Portuguese, Spanish and English, together with translated content from Bloomberg News.

Education

Philipe studied Economics in Brazil, after that he went to MIT for three years (2016-2018), where he enrolled in a Management and Leadership certificate. In 2019 he did a course in Data Science & Machine Learning in Harvard University. He then enrolled in the University of California - Hass Business School - where he learned about Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship. Philipe also went to UC San Diego and honed his skills in Data Science.

Career

Philipe began his career in 2009 when he joined Citi Bank where he worked on Equity Research for over a year. He then went on to work for Standard Chartered Bank on Structured Trade Finance. In 2012, Philipe joined Google where he worked for over two years, initially in the new business department and then as an Account Strategist and Project Leader. After that, Philipe worked for a year at Baidu as a Search Engine Product Manager.[25]

In 2015, Philipe joined KAYAK as a Country Director; building the business in Brazil.[26] He also led the commercial operations emerging markets and global expansion.[27] During his tenure, Philipe headed Cheapflights.com sites worldwide and KAYAK and OpenTable CRM products. From 2019 to 2020, Philipe served on the board of Rentcars.com, a leading car rental marketplace.[28]

In 2019, Philipe started his entrepreneurial journey and established AdTech ROI, a data and go-to-market consultancy company, and has landed numerous prolific clients such as Target, KOHLS, Johnson & Johnson, Mattel, Natura & Co, First Quality Enterprises, CVC Corp, Almundo, Mattel, and AB InBev. In 2020, he co-founded another venture called Bloomberg Linea, a multi-platform business news brand that serves the Spanish and Portuguese language business and finance audiences.

Awards

  • Philipe was named “35 under 35” at the 2019 Young Leaders by the Phocuswright Conference.[29]
