Bloomberg News (formerly known as Bloomberg Business News) is a worldwide news agency and part of Bloomberg L.P., which is located in New York City. Bloomberg News distributes its content via a variety of channels, including Bloomberg Terminals, Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Radio, Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg Markets, Bloomberg.com, and Bloomberg Mobile. As editor-in-chief, John Micklethwait has been with the publication since 2015.

A company called Bloomberg News was established in 1990 by Michael Bloomberg and Matthew Winkler with the goal of providing financial news reporting to users of the Bloomberg Terminal.

The company was founded in 1990 by a group of six individuals. First editor-in-chief was Winkler, who served until his retirement in 2007. Bloomberg News has more than 2,300 editors and reporters working in 72 countries and 146 news bureaus across the globe in 2010.
