Joy Rodak is an American healthcare executive and animal welfare advocate. Rodak has held various executive positions in the healthcare industry, including as CEO of Village Home Care and CEO of Mobile Medical Industries, and as VP of Corporate Strategy for Bethesda Healthcare System. She has been responsible for market share development, new revenue-generating strategies, and overall strategic direction in these positions. Rodak has also held positions in physician recruitment and practice consulting, admissions, and marketing in the healthcare industry. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Nova University and a Bachelor of Science in Administration from Lynn University. Rodak has been a member of several professional associations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives and the AHA Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development. She also has been a member of the Women Healthcare Executive Leaders and the Palm Beach County Business Development Board.[1]

Early Life and Career

Joy L. Rodak was born in the United States and spent much of her childhood in Pennsylvania. She attended Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Administration, with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Gerontology. She later earned a Master of Business Administration from Nova University in Davie, Florida, with a GPA of 4.0.

While completing her education, Rodak began her career in the healthcare industry, working in various roles such as marketing, admissions, and physician recruitment. She also owned and operated a physician recruitment and practice consulting business, JL Rodak Corp, before moving on to executive positions in the healthcare industry.

Rodak's career in healthcare leadership began at West Boca Medical Center in Boca Raton, Florida, where she was responsible for implementing marketing plans for various hospital services. She later served as Admissions Director at Health Care and Retirement Corp. in Lauderhill, Florida, where she increased the average occupancy level from 20% to 90% in 15 months.

In 1990, Rodak joined Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida, as Manager of Physician Services, where she managed new practice development, physician recruiting, and medical staff need planning. She later served as VP of Corporate Strategy for Bethesda Healthcare System, where she was responsible for market share development, new revenue-generating strategies, and overall strategic direction. During her tenure, she played a key role in implementing streamlined approaches to strategic planning and measurement, resulting in successful, action-oriented strategies that were well integrated with daily operations.

Rodak's expertise in healthcare leadership and strategic planning led her to several executive positions, including as Chief Operating Officer of Mobile Medical Industries, Inc. in Boynton Beach, Florida, and as Chief Executive Officer and majority shareholder of Village Home Care, LLC and Village Home Care of the Palm Beaches, LLC.

Career

Joy L. Rodak has had an extensive career in the healthcare industry, where she has held various executive positions and led successful initiatives in strategic planning, marketing, and revenue growth.[2]

In 1995, Rodak joined Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida, as Director of Business Development, where she was responsible for new program business planning, project implementation, direct marketing, and physician strategies. She also chaired the Medical Staff Marketing Committee and the Physician Satisfaction Action Council. During her tenure, she achieved net revenue of 11 times the projected amount for the MSO department's year one operation through a successful in-house recruiting service and consulting engagements. She also exceeded MSO net revenue projections by 40% in year two.

In 1999, Rodak was promoted to VP of Corporate Strategy at Bethesda Healthcare System, where she was responsible for market share development, new revenue-generating strategies, and overall strategic direction. She provided oversight for divisions of strategic planning, marketing, business development, corporate sales, public relations, and physician services. During her tenure, she increased the market share rate to the highest percentage (57%) since 1987 and implemented a streamlined approach to strategic planning and measurement, resulting in successful, action-oriented strategies that were well integrated with daily operations. She also provided oversight to BHC Home Health Agencies as a board member and implemented an improved organizational branding strategy, including a name change and enhanced consumer focus.

In 2001, Rodak was promoted to VP and CEO of Bethesda Hospital Foundation, where she was responsible for the fund-raising operation and implementation of a $100,000,000 capital campaign to support Healthcare System development. During her tenure, the capital campaign achieved results of $26 million six months into the campaign, and she established infrastructure to support aggressive campaign functions and recruited key support individuals. She also amended bylaws to enhance organizational function and support of Healthcare System initiatives and improved annual fund results.

In 2001, Rodak joined Mobile Medical Industries, Inc. in Boynton Beach, Florida, as Chief Operating Officer, where she was the operations officer for a $31 million integrated, home-based medical services company, specializing in Home Health (Medicare Certified) and Physician Housecall services. During her tenure, she was instrumental in the acquisition of $26 million in equity capital to fund expanded operations and increased company revenue by 100% through branch growth and establishing additional locations.

In 2004, Rodak founded Village Home Care, LLC and Village Home Care of the Palm Beaches, LLC, where she currently serves as Chief Executive Officer and majority shareholder.[3] She serves as the chief executive and operator of the multimillion-dollar home health business, offering skilled nursing, speech, physical and occupational therapy in two large healthcare districts of Florida. She specializes in care of residents in the general community and assisted living communities, with an emphasis on post-surgical therapy and memory care/cognitive therapy. She also developed and established the Brainworks™ cognitive therapy program to enhance/maintain the activities of daily living skills, reduce anxiety, and caregiver burden for patients with cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease, dementia, cva, or brain injury.

Throughout her career, Rodak has been dedicated to improving the lives of others, whether through her work in healthcare or her advocacy for animal welfare.

Philanthropy and Horse Rescue Efforts

In addition to her extensive professional experience in healthcare and medical services, Joy Rodak is dedicated to philanthropy and horse rescue efforts. She is passionate about equine welfare and has been actively involved in horse rescue and rehabilitation for many years.[4]

Joy has personally rescued and rehabilitated many horses over the years, providing them with the care and attention they need to heal from neglect and abuse. Some of these horses have gone on to excel in the show ring. She is a firm believer in the healing power of horses and their ability to help people overcome trauma and emotional challenges.[5]

Joy has also been involved in equine therapy programs that use horses to help individuals with physical, emotional, and cognitive disabilities. She has volunteered her time and resources to support these programs and to help ensure that horses are treated with dignity and respect.[6]

Joy also started a charity in 2014 called Saving Grace for Equines, Inc. which is also now a sanctuary.

Through her philanthropy and horse rescue efforts, Joy Rodak has made a significant contribution to the welfare of horses and to the community at large.
