Giovannie Gonzalez, (born 9 January 1990, Lodi, CA), also known as KingGio,[1] is a Mexican-American professional boxer, Boxing promoter, entrepreneur, professional athlete, and owner of KingGio Boxing academy. He currently serves as the CEO of KingGio Boxing Promotions, with a net worth of 800k.[2][3]

Gonzalez began his professional boxing career in 2017 and quickly made a name for himself with his aggressive and Unique fighting style.[4][5]

In addition to his successful career in the ring, Gonzalez is also a successful business owner, owner of KingGio Boxing Academy, and CEO Of KingGio Boxing promotions.

Early life and education

Gonzalez was born on 9 January 1990 in Lodi, CA. He attended Tokay high school and graduated in 2008. He received his Associate Degree from Kaplan College and his BA degree from California State University Sacramento.

Career

Boxing

He started his professional boxing career in 2017, taking part in professional fights. His fighting style has been described as aggressive, challenging, and valorous.[6]

Gonzalez competed professionally and fought for the International World Boxing Federation (WBF). Lightweight title and the Universal Boxing Organization(UBO) Super FeatherWeight world Title, His fights have been broadcasted live on FightHub TV, Mmacore.tv, and he has headlined and sold out multiple shows.[7]

On 30 September 2017, Gonzalez became the first professional fighter out of Northern California to be signed to the famous Grant Boxing brand by CEO Elvis Grant Phillips.[8] The signing took place in Santa Monica, C115] Grant Boxing is famously known for being the sole boxing provider of one the best fighters in the history of boxing, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Other Famous fighters that also wear or have worn Grant Boxing Gloves are Gennady "Tripple G "Golovkin, Saul 'Canelo Alvarez, Terrence Crawford, and Deontay Wilder.[9]

Gonzalez was also a nightclub owner and CEO of the once-famous California-based Group 'o5 Boyz" in the early 2010s, where much of his early wealth originated.[10]

On 29 November 2020, Gonzalez fought Jose Luis Roa for the WBF International Title. The fight of the year candidate went the distance to ten rounds which Gonzalez lost via split decision and ultimately announced his retirement after the fight.[11]

After seven months, Gonzalez came out of retirement, Fired most of his team that had him finish 2020, 0-1-2, and hired a completely new team.[12]

In his first fight coming back, Gonzalez fought for his first world title (Universal Boxing Organization) on 7 July 2021, in Tijuana Baja California, against Christian arenas in a 12-round main event, which resulted in Gonzalez winning via 2nd round knockout and capturing the UBO Super Featherweight world title. Gonzalez finished 2021 undefeated after making that strategic move of cleaning the house and hiring a new team.[13] In 2022, Gonzalez expanded his fast-growing KingGio Brand and purchased a Boxing Gym in Lodi Ca for reportedly $600,000, now known as KingGio Boxing Academy.

Super Fight

Rumors of a potential super fight against Local arch rival Gabriel Flores Jr were heating up in the summer of 2022. A verbal agreement between both parties to fight at the Stockton arena reportedly had been agreed on but never materialized.[14]

In 2023 Gonzalez Signed a Multi fight Deal With the fast-growing east coast BYB Bare knuckle Promotion.

First Round Management

On January 24, 2023, Gonzalez signed a lucrative deal with powerhouse sports agent Malki Kawa and was added to the First Round Management celebrity roster. First Round Management is known for managing and elevating multiple professional athletes such as Jon Jones, Jorge Masdival, Anthony Pettis, Demetrius Johnson, Bj Penn, Paige Vanzant, Frank Gore, Shannon Briggs, and Tyron Woodley, just to name a few.

Currently, Gonzalez currently resides in Stockton, California.
