Gift Gugu Mona (born 02 July 1983), a South African Poet,[1]writer, Philosopher,[2] Academic, [3] and Philanthropist[4]. She is an author of several books including "From My Mother’s Classroom: A Badge of Honour for a Remarkable Woman", "Izinkondlo Zase-Afrika", "Woman of Virtue: Power-Filled Quotes for a Powerful Woman", "The Unfading Dream for Africa", "The Effective Leadership Prototype For a Modern Day Leader" and many others.[5]
Early life and education
Gift Gugu Mona was born in Sabie Hospital, Mpumalanga[1], South Africa. She was raised under Christian tenets. Her paternal grandfather was a carpenter, a farmer and also Priest. Her paternal grandmother was a Christian Leader at the Mission of Christ Church of Christ in South Africa. Her Father and Mother alike were staunch Christians who taught her philosophy and entrepreneurship, respectively [6].
She obtained a doctorate at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa[7]. She also obtained her Master of Public Health from the University of Newcastle, Australia[8]. She began writing poetry while in senior primary school[9] [2] [4], where she won her first poetry competition before the age of 15. Having being raised by parents who were passionate about philosophy, she learnt to master that art along the way. Her contribution to society is notable through her writings and published books.
