Feras Mousilli (born January 31, 1978) is an American lawyer, intellectual property expert, professor, and civil rights advocate.[1] He is the co-founder and managing partner of Lloyd & Mousilli, a boutique law firm specializing in intellectual property and technology law. He is also the fund manager of Damask Ventures, a global venture capital fund focused on early-stage technology startups.[2]

Early life and education

Mousilli was born in Damascus, Syria, to immigrant parents. He holds a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science and a master's degree in Computer Science Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He served as Class Representative for the Student Council and Chair of the MSE Symposium. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law.

Career

Mousilli began his legal career at DLA Piper, specializing in intellectual property litigation as a registered U.S. Patent Attorney. He later served as Senior Corporate Counsel for Dell Inc., where he advised on product development, intellectual property strategies, and marketing compliance. Mousilli was later recruited by Apple Inc and served as Senior Corporate Counsel for the Apple Watch and the MFi program.[3]

In 2003, Mousilli co-founded Lloyd & Mousilli, a boutique law firm headquartered in San Francisco, California. The firm specializes in intellectual property and technology law, serving clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. Mousilli advises on various legal matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, corporate governance, and contract negotiations. The firm has established a global presence, supporting clients across the United States, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.[4]

Mousilli also serves as the fund manager for Damask Ventures, which invests in early-stage technology startups, particularly in emerging markets.

As an educator, Mousilli has taught law and entrepreneurship at institutions worldwide. He has served as a Fulbright Professor and guest lecturer at renowned universities, including the University of Texas School of Law, Istanbul University, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and the University of California, Berkeley.

Mousilli is also a committed civil rights advocate, serving on the boards of organizations such as the Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee, Syrian American Council, and Council of American Islamic Relations.
