Abiola Fabio (January 31, 1989) also known as Fabio Abiola is a Nigerian social media strategist, marketing professional, and digital content creator. He is the founder of The Future Football Academy, a talent agency in Nigeria. Fabio currently serves as the senior performance and digital marketing manager at KingMakers, a sports and entertainment platform based in Africa. Prior to KingMakers, he worked with companies such as Reckitt, Erdters Consulting, Jumia Group, and Contagious Group.[1][2]

Fabio is an expert at conceptualizing, developing, and implementing novel solutions and is most renowned for his ability to identify and conceptualize fresh ideas. With years of experience working with significant businesses and celebrity clientele, Fabio is a popular commentator on the impact of social media on the business world.[3]

Early life and education

Fabio was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in sociology from the University of Ilorin. During 2004-2008, Fabio undertook a digital media and information resources design course from Aptech. He has also completed a diploma in Diploma in E-Business from Alison Online and has secured 98% in Hootsuite Certified Professional Exam held in 2014.

Career

Fabio began his career in 2012 as the director of social media strategy and practice at Contagious Group. At Contagious Group, he was responsible for ensuring the successful launch and execution of digital marketing projects. On the African continent, he is known to have overseen the digital account and media strategy for LG Electronics Africa.[4][5]

During his employment, his strategy Independence day campaign for Kaymu titled #iDreamOfANigeria, which intended to create strong affinity with Nigerians for the brand and own the discussion on independence day, was a tremendous success, garnering over 700 Press mentions and 80M+ impressions worldwide. He was instrumental in creating digital profits on YouTube for well-known content owners in Nigeria, such as entertainment content companies Hip Tv, Nigezie Tv, and Soundcity. Fabio ascended to the post of social media and community manager for Jumia Market Africa in 2015. He was responsible for directing the brand’s social media processes and practices throughout 17 nations in the African continent.[6]

In 2016, Fabio became the head of digital marketing at Erdters, a creative marketing agency tasked with assisting businesses and high-profile individuals to boost audience engagement and return on investment via digital platforms.[7]

In 2019, Fabio began working at Reckitt as the digital manager, a leading consumer health, hygiene, and home firm. He provided digital leadership for new business prospects, including developing digital strategies for brands and performance marketing for e-commerce businesses. Initially employed in Nigeria, he subsequently transferred to Sub-Saharan Africa in the same position. His Reckitt clientele included companies such as Dettol, Veet, Harpic, Mortein, Airwick, and Strepsils.[8]

In October 2022, Fabio joined the Africa-based sports and entertainment platform KingMakers. As the senior manager in performance and digital marketing, Fabio is responsible for overseeing the formulation and execution of performance marketing strategies, customer relationship management, data analysis, SEO, social media marketing, and affiliate marketing.[9]
