EnGenius Technologies, Inc. is a US-based manufacturer of wireless communications and radio frequency technology. The company is best known for offering voice and data solutions and manufacturing cordless business telephone systems and portable handsets and other products to enhance/revolutionize mobility communications.[1][2]

Established in 1999, EnGenius manufacturing facilities are IS0-9001 and TL-9000 certified and uphold MIL-STD-105E Level II and International Workmanship Standards.[3] The company's product portfolio predominantly comprises Gigabit PoE switches,[4] indoor and outdoor wireless networking products, and IP cameras.[5]

History

EnGenius Technologies was established in 1999 in Costa Mesa, CA. Since then the company has been offering a wide portfolio of business-class networking and telephony solutions that are sold directly to its distribution partners (including Ingram Micro, Jenne, Keenan, Streakwave, and Synnex) in the US, Canada, and Latin America.[6]

EnGenius' portfolio of networking solutions includes managed and unmanaged wireless solutions, Gigabit PoE switches, and IP-based surveillance systems.[7] Customers have a choice between a cloud-managed network solution and an on-premises solution.[8][9]

In 2016 - EnGenius expanded its Neutron Series distributed network management solution by launching an enterprise-class 11ac Wave 2 4x4 indoor and outdoor access points at Interop Las Vegas and three new gigabit-managed smart switches at HiTec New Orleans.[10] In the same year, EnGenius introduced EWS1025CAM - a new mesh surveillance system, the first hybrid 11ac managed wireless access point with integrated 2-MP IP surveillance camera, at CEDIA. Pace International and Crossover Distribution[11] also became official EnGenius distribution partners and distributors respectively in 2016.[12][13]

In 2017, EnGenius launched the EnMesh™ Home Wi-Fi system,[14] to cater to the needs of an entire home or small office in high-speed wireless, for better whole-house coverage and no dead spots. In the same year, EnGenius released the new EnTurbo Tri-Band 802.11ac Wave 2 access point (EAP2200).[15] The new tri-band technology was created to increase multimedia streaming performance to wireless devices by doubling the available bandwidth for the latest 11ac mobile gear while also addressing the growing need for smart IoT devices.[16]

In 2018, EnGenius introduced its new Wi-Fi planning tool, ezWiFi Planner, which was designed to increase efficiency at no cost to registered partners.[17] The company also launched the 11ac Wave 2 EAP1250 access point, designed to deliver Wi-Fi with 30 percent faster throughput.[18] In the same year, EnGenius also launched the world’s first 2×2 802.11ax access point designed for SMEs and a bespoke Wi-Fi mesh network system called MESHdot Kit.[19][20]

EnGenius launched the ESR530 smart router in 2019, to provide consistent Wi-Fi connections in high-demand home Wi-Fi networks.[21] It is designed to readily transport data through known Wi-Fi signal structural barriers and utilized Qualcomm's most recent consumer technology. In the same year, the company also launched a bespoke scalable cloud network management solution - EnGenius Cloud For SMBs.[22] In the same year, the company also started shipping its high-capacity Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) 4x4 EWS377AP access point.[23][24]

In 2020, EnGenius released the ECW115 wall-plate access point, designed for multi-user, multi-device environments, and the ERP1, the company's latest universal wireless repeater designed to eliminate wireless dead zones.[25] In the same year, EnGenius added contact tracking to their client timeline feature in the EnGenius Cloud platform to help identify user locations through their devices to help mitigate epidemic scenarios such as Covid-19.[26] EnGenius also entered into a partnership with SYSCOM to make EnGenius Cloud available for the first time in Mexico and released its two new versions - EnGenius Cloud ECS2512 and ECS2512FP multi-gigabit switches.[27][28] EnGenius ECW260 Cloud Managed Wi-Fi 6 Outdoor Dual-Band Wireless AP and Wi-Fi 6 EWS850AP weatherproof access points were also launched in 2020.[29] EnGenuis also debuted its Cloud-To-Go app for small businesses.[30][31]

In 2021 EnGenius announced its integration with Facebook Wi-Fi into its EnGenius Cloud Solution and released its FreeStyle SIP long-range cordless phone and two-way radio system.[32] EnGenius also introduced two brand new cloud-managed Wi-Fi 6 security access points, the ECW230S, and ECW220S with the EnGenius AirGuard™ system. The APS are equipped with dedicated antennas that scan for rogue devices and threats 24/7.[33] In the same year, the company also launched its EnGenius Cloud PRO network management platform.[34]

In 2022, EnGenius launched the very first Wi-Fi 6E access point designed for the SMB market.[35] The ECW336 AP features the Qualcomm Networking Pro 1210 platform and was developed for use in the recently unleashed 6 GHz spectrum by the FCC.

Services

EnGenius’ product line consists of network switches, indoor and outdoor access points, IP cameras, cordless business telephone systems with portable handsets, PoE injectors, PoE converters, power adapters, and SFP modules. The company also provides cloud network management software for managed service providers or end-users who manage their own networks. Apart from that EnGenious also runs quality assurance tests, such as QE burn-in room accelerated life tests, environmental test chambers, vibration and drop tests, and salt spray tests.[36]

EnGenius also offers a variety of online certification courses[37] to ensure that their partners are up to speed on industry issues such as networking, radio frequency principles, and Wi-Fi design,[38] as well as EnGenius products and applications:
