Early life and education

Adawal was born on 27 June 1957 in Delhi, India. His father was a bureaucrat and his mother was an educationist. Right from childhood, Adawal was intellectual and recognized as a gifted child. He attended Air Force School to complete a BA Honors degree in Economics. He then finished his MBA at Delhi University and received his Ph.D. in Economics.

Adawal started his career in 1978 and joined DCM products to handle sales of computers and calculators. He got four promotions in two years. In 1981, he joined Larsen & Toubro and handled national accounts. Adawal was the youngest achiever in the company to meet sales targets before the deadline. In 1987, he joined Modi Xerox, during this time reprographics was a new concept and he was the best performer in the company and was named the National Accounts Manager of the company.

In 1989, Adawal joined Nelco, a Tata group company. During his time, he led the company and was responsible for the introduction of the C-Dot technology to the industry and was able to gain some major government accounts and generated revenue of 100 crores a year. Adawal formed an alliance with Bell Canada and the foray of Tata Bell Canada’s into the GSM business, however the idea wasn't executed due to the company’s internal policies. Later he led a deal with Teleglobe of Canada and was credited with selling the first Public Switching Data Network to the Department of Telecom. He was a part of the Tata team that completed the acquisition of Teleglobe’s Data Division.

He joined Nortel in 1993 and established its liaison office. He oversaw the business' enterprise network segment and collaborated closely with BD and PR efforts with Nortel offices in Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Adawal formed an alliance with Global Tele-system for the enterprise division and generated an annual revenue of Rs 100 crore and also saw through a tripartite arrangement with GE Global and EDC of Canada to set up the First Electric Mail Business in India.

He began working for a company called Reliance Industries in 1997.[6][7] His major role at the company has primarily been liaising with the government and the industry environment.[8] Adawal has worked with several critical ministries like Petroleum, Commerce, Industry, Coal, Power, Finance, Telecom and Environment and support system to take statutory approvals.[9] His role has helped RIL immensely to find success.[10]

Shanker said that in order to become a Jyotishacharya, he had to study astrology. As the news spread, the weekends of Shanker's friends and acquaintances began to fill up with people looking for consolation and solutions, and even strangers began knocking on his door in search of methods to appease an agitated world. Astrology piqued his interest more and more as he went more into the subject matter. The more he researched, the more he felt the need to share his knowledge with others, a yearning that has culminated in the publication of 16 ground-breaking books on astrology.[11] He browsed his personal collection of 3,000 volumes, attempting to glean insight from old texts and the thoughts of sages.[12]

His techniques of prediction are based on the Bhrigu Technique, the ideas and philosophies of which have been discovered after more than two decades' worth of investigation. Because of his passion and aim to disseminate the results of his study as well as fresh perspectives that may be added to the field of astrology, he penned a great deal of literature on the subject of astrology. According to him, astrology is a complementary or alternative kind of treatment, a useful instrument that may reduce difficulties and assist individuals in becoming healthier within the boundaries and the context of their lives.

Adawal was inclined towards philosophy, when he sat with his father and his friends to discuss the astronomical events that were happening at the time. In his house, which was filled with a large number of books on the topic of astrology, all of the most well-known names in the area of astrology would get together. It was then that Adawal came to the realization that astrology is more concerned with the things that are inside us than with those that are in the stars. To put it more simply, it is just energy.

Adawal likes to read one of the more than 2,000 volumes that he currently has in his collection. They are not only about astrology in the limited sense, but they are also about mythology, ancient texts, and philosophy, all of which help him analyze this topic in a more holistic manner.

Now, everyone from lawmakers to Bollywood celebs seeks his advice before making decisions.

Adawal is able to publish a book each year on subjects such as Palmistry, Zodiacs, and Vedic Astrology[13] as well as the specifics underlying those topics since he writes one page per day. He has since published more than sixteen books on the topic, and he continues to perform study on the topics that fascinate him. Adawal has expressed his dream of establishing a prestigious educational institution on the banks of the Ganga river.[14]

Adawal has authored books on a number of subjects including human rights, agriculture, and astrology.[15] Some of books include:

Dr. Adawal is aware of the issues that face society and is knowledgeable about the policies that are enacted by the government.[22]

A non-profit organization called Manvadhikar Samajik Manch (MASM) was established with the intention of assisting the underprivileged members of society in obtaining essential services such as legal aid, conducting medical camps, imparting vocational training, rehabilitating and relocating destitute individuals, and rural entrepreneurial programmes. At MASM, individuals have access to information on the prevention of illness, and the facility also has a special cell devoted to the health problems of women.[23]

Because Adawal is a non-partisan philanthropist, he does not support or oppose any particular government, political philosophy, economic interest, or religious faith. He is particularly concerned with the impartial protection of human rights in order to empower the general people, promote, strengthen, and defend human rights and good governance in India, and to bring about change in the observance of human rights on the local, national, and international levels. To create a society that is fair and just is the goal of this endeavor.[24]

His overarching goal as a philanthropist is to advance the cause of national and international integration by bolstering efforts to recognise and safeguard human rights. This will be accomplished via the promotion of human rights. Through the provision of legal and civic education, the supply of legal assistance, the conduction of research and the following of human rights breaches, he also seeks to empower the general people to become more conscious of legal and human rights issues. This is part of his mission.[25]

Adawal has made its mission statement of "impartial protection and promotion of human rights in all its form" a reality over the course of the last 25 years, and the organization continues to work toward realizing its vision of "the building of a fair and equitable society" on a daily basis. Action-oriented and research-oriented goals are both part of MASM's mission. Action-oriented goals include holding medical and legal camps, identifying instances of human rights violations, and networking with other organizations with similar missions. Research-oriented goals include holding seminars, conducting surveys, and conducting research on a variety of topics.[26]
