Dr. Philippe Smith is a family physician based in Montreal, Canada with over a decade of experience.[1] He also holds leadership positions in associations that promote the advancement of the medical field.[2]
Education and Career
Philippe Smith was drawn to family medicine by his own family physician and his general interest in exploring how the human body functions.[3] He received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Cell and Molecular Biology from Concordia University in 2002.[2] He holds a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Montreal.[1] He completed his residency at Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital.[4]
Dr. Smith currently practices at Clinique Le Trait D’Union and Anna Laberge Hospital.[5] His medical practice is premised on a holistic approach that considers the physical and mental aspects of a patient’s experience.[6]
He belongs to the Fédération des Médecins Omnipraticiens du Québec (FMOQ) and has held leadership positions within the organization.[7] He also holds two terms as Vice President of AMOSO (L’Association des médecins Omnipraticiens du Sud-Ouest), a regional doctors’ association.[8] As part of his work, he organized a gathering for young medical professionals for additional support and networking in 2023.[9] He also cohosts AMOSO’s annual general assembly, the largest annual gathering of its kind.[10]
Dr. Smith has published articles on prostatitis and the future of family medicine.[11]
Additional activities
Dr. Philippe Smith enjoys travel, snowboarding, mountain biking, running, and percussion.[7]
He also donates time and resources to various philanthropic endeavors, particularly in public health.[9]
