Dr. Louis Hampers has served his community as a pediatrician for the last three decades.[1] Over his career, he has held many high ranking titles and demanding positions, including medical director, section chief, and urgent care provider. Additionally, he has taught the practice of pediatrics in academic positions.[2][3][4]

Early Life and education

Dr. Louis Hampers went to Dartmouth College and there in 1987 he received his Bachelor’s degree. He pursued dual degrees, and attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine for his Medical degree and the Wharton School for his Business Administration degree. He finished his residency specializing in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and then finished his sub-specialty training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

After the completion of his sub-specialty training in Chicago, Dr. Louis Hampers then earned a position with the faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He became an Associate Professor there in 2007.[5] He was responsible for roles there that included Section Head of the Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and also Medical Director of the Emergency Department at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado.[6]

It is important to Dr. Louis Hampers to give back to his community.[7][8] He is always active in donations, events, or other charitable efforts, and during the COVID pandemic volunteered his services at a local clinic to assist in treating patients.[9][10]

In addition, he started the Dr. Louis Hampers Scholarship for Medical Students, which gives scholarship funding to a single dedicated student who is studying on their path to becoming one of our future doctors.[11] In the process, Louis also wants to bolster awareness about the financial struggles that plague students on their roads to careers in the field of healthcare.[12][13][14][15]
