Dr. Brian Cable is an orthopedic surgeon, specializing in sports medicine and upper extremity orthopedics. He graduated from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles and has practiced in California and Pennsylvania.[1] He is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and was published in the Sports Medicine Arthroscopy Review, Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine journal, and Clinical Orthopedics.

Education and career

Dr. Cable graduated magna cum laude from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. He was also Alpha Omega Alpha in medical school.[2] He conducted his residency at the Texas Tech Health Science Center.[3] In 1996, Dr. Cable received the Marshall R. Urist Resident Award from the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons.

Starting in 2018, he joined the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine as a Sports Medicine Fellow. In 2019, he was published in the Operative Techniques in Sports Medicine journal. He was also published in the Sports Medicine Arthroscopy Review and Clinical Orthopedics.[4]

Dr. Cable previously practiced in California. He currently practices in Pennsylvania with Lehigh Valley Health Network, conducting both telemedicine and private practice.[5] He also currently serves as the Chief Medical Advisor for No World Borders.

As an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Cable specializes in sports medicine, with a further subspecialization in upper extremity orthopedics.[6] His professional philosophy is medicine requires a combined effort between patients and physician. He advocates for proper orthopedic practice to improve his patients’ quality of life.[7] He has stated that he enjoys the physical and cognitive challenges of his field.

Personal life

Dr. Brian Cable is a single father of three children. When he is not working, he volunteers medical services and donates to underserved patient populations.[8] He also enjoys time outdoors playing tennis, mountain biking, and hiking.
