Chad Readey is a student-athlete, data science major, and computer science minor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He is also the founder of the accessories company Sticks. With a unique blend of academic and athletic prowess, Chad is known by his peers as a “nerd-athlete” and combines his acumen for statistics with his love for baseball to pursue exciting data analytics activities and business ventures.

Education and Career

Chad Readey graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Illinois. He was a four-year honor roll student, a National Merit finalist, a three-year letter-winner in baseball, and a four-year letter-winner in basketball.[1]

Readey is a current student at Northwestern University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in data science with a minor in computer science. As part of his studies, he conducted research on Major League Baseball’s pitch prediction using logistic regression.[2] He combines academic rigor and athletic commitment in an innovative approach to solving complex problems and making smart predictions.

Readey is a Data Science Intern with the MetroAlliance, Inc. He has worked for the company since July 2022.[3]

He is a pitcher on the Northwestern Wildcats baseball team. He made his collegiate debut in 2022 against the University of Alabama at Birmingham.[1]

In 2023, he founded an accessories company called Sticks. The company sells mismatched socks, blankets, pillows, and pet products. Readey’s inspiration for the company stems from his love for these products in childhood.[4] He utilizes his skill set in machine learning, statistical analysis, and data visualization to drive business results.[5]

Additional Activities

Chad Readey enjoys spending time outdoors and hiking.[6][7] His personal interests include a blend of data analytics, finance, and social impact. He seeks to drive positive change and create a lasting impact by applying data science to philanthropic endeavors and online commerce opportunities. Ultimately, Chad aims to bridge the gap between data-driven insights and tangible business results.
