Cesar Ornelas, born in Corpus Christi, Texas, is an American personal injury attorney, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Originally from Kyle,Texas, Ornelas is a first-generation graduate and attorney, working towards giving voice to the voiceless.[1] He is a successful lawyer and the founder of various firms, including Cesar Ornelas Law and Ornelas & Serna law.[2] Ornelas also serves as the CEO of Ormeida Cabins and a partner at EZ Rent-to-Own.

He also co-founded a non-profit organization, Lucia Ornelas Foundation, in 2010. The foundation works towards providing the necessities to the people of Port Lavaca, Texas.[3]

In an interview, Ornelas shared that he believes in working with hard work, discipline, and determination to deal with difficult situations.[4] Licensed in Texas, Ornelas is best known for his significant work towards securing justice for his clients suffering serious injuries and deaths in catastrophic accidents.[5]

Early life and education

Ornelas was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, son of Cesar and Belia Ornelas. During his early years while living in Kyle, Texas, Ornelas used to travel with his father selling watermelons in order to earn a living and provide for his family. His childhood experience made him believe in the values of hard work and discipline and they guided his actions throughout his career as a student and practitioner.

Ornelas decided to pursue a career in law inspired by his cousin Joey, who had a serious accident which left him paralysed. This incident left Ornelas with a determination to be the voice for people like Joey and seek justice to hold companies accountable for actions causing injuries and death to others.

Ornelas graduated as Bachelor of Arts (Economics) and Juris Doctor (JD) degree from St. Mary's University.

Career

After graduating from law school, Ornelas started working towards opening his own law firm. As a trial attorney, Ornelas is an expert at handling personal injury and fatal death cases. He works with clients throughout the state of Texas and the United States.[6]

In 2016, he started his firm Cesar Ornelas Law, a firm run by experienced personal injury attorneys. The firm strives to give voice to the people suffering serious injuries and deaths. Unlike other firms, Cesar Ornelas Law works towards getting justice for its clients and takes fees only after they have successfully won the case.[7]

Ornelas Co-founded Ornelas & Serna law firm, in partnership with JohnCarlo Serna. He is also Chief Executive Officer of Ormeida Cabins and Partner at EZ Rent-to-Own. Ormeida cabins is a company operating 10 retail outlets throughout south and central Texas. The company builds custom cabins on the customer’s property based on their need and specifications.[8]

Memberships

Ornelas is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Texas. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States.

In 2021, Cesar was invited to be a part of The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.[9]

Philanthropy

Apart from being a successful lawyer, Ornelas is also an active philanthropist. He is a Co-founder of Lucia Ornelas Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2010. The foundation has been named after his grandmother, who was known for her contribution towards serving the people of Port Lavaca.

Inspired by his childhood where he did not have enough resources, Ornelas continues to serve the community by providing free meals, turkeys on Thanksgiving, Christmas toy drives and brand new Nike and Reebok shoes to shoeless children.
