Byron Cole is an entrepreneur, startup specialist, author,[1] and business mentor, based in London.[2] He is the founder of BLC Group, the umbrella company for over 12 businesses that Cole owns, operates, or has a financial interest in, including a construction Recruitment firm, a property development firm, a luxury chauffeuring firm, an events firm offering personal development workshops, and a Fintech business. Cole has over 21 financial business holdings in the UK and UAE.[3][4]

Cole is the Sunday Times Best Selling Published author of the books: "Self Made" and "The Business Survival Kit." He is also the co-founder of Quint Solutions Limited, co-chair of the Evolve Housing charity, and Greenwich University's Generator program chair.[5]

Early life and education

Cole was born and raised in London, United Kingdom. He graduated from Edgware School in 2000 and enrolled at John Ruskin College to pursue business studies. In 2004, Cole joined the University of Greenwich and obtained his BSc in business economics in 2008.

Career

Cole ended up working in a real estate business at the age of 20 due to his passion for real estate. To pursue his interest in real estate, Cole founded BLC Property Solutions. The company offered diverse property rental, purchase, and sale services to individual landlords, local governments, and real estate agencies. The company was sold in 2013 to an investor who intends to develop green energy solutions.[6][7]

In 2006, Cole founded BLC Group, the holding company for over 12 businesses that Cole owns, operates, or has a financial stake in, including a construction Recruitment agency, a property development firm, an events firm delivering personal development courses, and a financial technology business.[8]

Cole joined and invested in AJK Resources Ltd. in 2012. In his two years tenure as finance director, he boosted the company's revenue to seven figures.[9]

In 2013, Vision Newspaper hired Cole as a columnist to assist the publication's readers and help their business grow. Cole responded to reader queries regarding business, careers, and personal development.[10]

In 2014, Cole established Eagle Property Solutions, which provided Gas Safety Certificates (CP12), Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Test), Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), Property Inventories, Periodic Inspection Reports, Floor Plans, and Property Photography services. In July 2015, he sold the company to TLK Property.[11]

Cole co-founded Quint Solutions Limited in 2014, providing recruitment services to the UK construction and real estate industries.[12]

In 2019, Cole joined as the Co-Chair of the Business Solutions Department at Evolve Housing + Support, a charity that assists the homeless.[13][14]

As a business consultant and startup expert, Cole serves as a mentor to business owners and managers. He is a mentor at Greenwich University and a former mentor and governor of the Harris Academy.[15][16]

Since September 2014, Cole has been managing BBC Apprentice Star Bianca Miller. Cole and Bianca Miller have launched the Self Made brand, which provides business owners with mentoring on how to manage a successful enterprise.[17]

Cole has co-authored two bestsellers, Self Made and The Business Survival Kit. Self Made, published by Hodder & Stoughton, is a comprehensive guide to the business development process. The Business Survival Kit, published by Penguin Random House, topped the Sunday Times bestseller list in the United Kingdom.[18]

Awards and recognitions

In 2015, Cole was a nominee for the Entrepreneur of Excellence Award at the National Diversity Awards, out of 20,000 candidates.

Personal life

Cole lives in London, England and is married to his wife Bianca Miller.[20]
