Bogdan Dubylovskyi (born May 31, 1991) is a Ukrainian entrepreneur, writer, PR and marketing specialist, and public figure. He is best known as the co-founder of Wikibusines, a company offering paid PR and native advertising on Wikipedia. He is also the founder of "Wikipedia Ukraine," a public organization dedicated to promoting and improving the Ukrainian segment of Wikipedia. With diverse career pursuits, Dubylovskyi has made significant contributions in various fields, including politics, public relations, and marketing.[1]

Early life and education

Dubylovskyi was born and raised in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. He completed his secondary education at the local gymnasium No. 2 in 2008. Pursuing higher education, Dubylovskyi enrolled at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) with a focus on political science. However, during the final year of his undergraduate studies, he emigrated to Great Britain without legal authorization. During his two-year stay in the UK, Dubylovskyi researched the Ukrainian diaspora and returned to Ukraine in 2014.

Career

Following his return to Ukraine, Dubylovskyi embarked on a diverse career path. Initially, he worked at a pawn shop and a travel company. In 2015, he ventured into entrepreneurship by establishing a hostel in Ivano-Frankivsk named after the fictional character Homer Simpson. Simultaneously, he began working as a political technologist specializing in election campaign strategies.[2]

A year later, in 2016, Dubylovskyi founded Rosiere Solutions, a social media marketing agency. In 2017, he assumed the role of a communications mentor at the Ukrainian Leadership Academy, offering guidance on effective communication techniques. Subsequently, he briefly served as a digital marketer at Kyiv Post, the largest English-language newspaper in Ukraine. In 2019, Dubylovskyi transitioned to a project manager position in the marketing department of the betting company FavBet.[3]

Wikibusines

In 2016, Bogdan Dubylovskyi & Roman Melnyk officially registered Wikibusiness, a European company specializing in PR and native advertising on Wikipedia.[4] Recognizing the growing demand for enhancing their online presence through Wikipedia, Dubylovskyi, and Melnyk pioneered the field of paid editing on the platform. Wikibusiness offers professional services for the creation, management, and maintenance of Wikipedia articles, ensuring accuracy and relevancy.[5]

In 2020, Wikibusiness demonstrated its commitment to countering Russian propaganda by establishing the public organization "Ukrainian Wikipedia" and launching the Patreon account "Wikipatrol." Through Wikipatrol, Dubylovskyi and his team actively created articles highlighting combat operations, the heroics of Ukrainian soldiers, Russian crimes, and real-time coverage of ongoing battlefield events. Their expertise became sought-after by military and SBU personnel, resulting in the removal of Russian propaganda and safeguarding pages that expose Russian armed aggression.[6]

Author

In 2011, Dubylovskyi participated in the Second Summer Literary School, organized by the "MARUSYA" Literary Club. He collaborated with Bohdana Matiyash, Anton Sanchenko, and others to co-author the book titled "Summer Literary School 2011: Almanac." This publication showcased the finest works of young poets and novelists across Ukraine.[7]

In November 2011, he co-authored and published a futuristic almanac entitled "Zvyzdobolid," along with his friend Roman Melnyk. This publication featured works by contemporary Ukrainian writers alongside futurist classics from the executed Renaissance period. In 2022, the book was republished with a dedication to Elon Musk and Stepan Bandera.[8]

Political activity

After returning from Britain, Bogdan Dubylovskyi actively engaged in public activities, particularly in the realm of cycling. In 2015, he founded the Ivano-Frankivsk Cyclists' Association, establishing a charity bicycle rental program and the first free public bicycle workshop in Ukraine.[9] Additionally, he collaborated with the STAN, implementing a project to enhance police-community cooperation. Dubylovskyi also spearheaded initiatives such as socio-cultural mapping in Ivano-Frankivsk and contributed as a co-author to the virtual museum "Luhansk's Art&Facts," focusing on the region's cultural and public history from 2004 to 2013.[10]

With Russia's full-scale invasion underway, Bohdan helps the Ukrainian military by purchasing cars, Starlinks, and clothing.[11]
