Anurag Dahiya is a business executive and the Chief Commercial Officer at the International Cricket Council (ICC), based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[1]

Early Life and Education

Anurag Dahiya holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science & Engineering degree from Punjab Engineering College (1989-1993).[2] Dahiya earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (1993-1995). [3]

Career

Early Career

Dahiya began his professional journey at Unilever, serving as an Area Sales Manager for Brooke Bond Lipton India Limited from 1995 to 1997. He then joined Fox Sports (Asian TV network)|ESPN STAR Sports as an Assistant Manager in Marketing, a role he held for a year starting in July 1997. From July 1998 to June 2000, Dahiya worked at Goodyear India Limited as a Manager in MMD & Traffic. [4]

ESPN STAR Sports

Dahiya's tenure at ESPN STAR Sports was marked by a series of progressive roles, starting as a Senior Manager in Business Development, he ultimately served as Senior Vice President from July 2010 to March 2014, during which he led the network’s strategic planning process across the Asian region and managed program acquisitions and sales for key sports, including cricket. [4] Anurag played a key role in several significant projects at ESPN STAR Sports (ESS). Along with Manu Sawhney, he conceptualized and launched ESPN Super Selector. He was instrumental in the conceptualization and launch of the Premier Hockey League (PHL), a major initiative in the field of hockey. His contributions were vital in securing the International Cricket Council (ICC) rights for ESS, a pivotal achievement for the network. Anurag also played a significant part in the launch of Star Cricket, India's first dedicated international cricket channel. Additionally, he oversaw the successful introduction of ESPN STAR Sports' first round-the-clock sports news channel, ESPNews India|ESPNEWS, as well as the digital streaming platform, ESPN Play to Asia. Singtel

In April 2015, Dahiya joined Singtel, a major telecommunications company, as the Head of Content for mio TV. He was later appointed as the Head of Content & Ad Sales, where he led video content strategy and operations for Singtel (IPTV/OTT) and was responsible for growing advertising revenues as the Head of Advertising Sales for Singtel Media, a position he held until March 2020. International Cricket Council

Dahiya joined the International Cricket Council in March 2020 as the Chief Commercial Officer.[1] In this role, he is responsible for driving the commercial strategy of the ICC, managing media rights, sponsorships, and expanding the global market for cricket.
